Today, my partner and I set off on a short tour of the Frosinone area, heading to one of the oldest and most fascinating towns in the area: Boville Ernica. Looking for a place to have lunch, our attention fell on L'Altro Frantoio, thanks to the excellent ratings given by other diners. At 9:30, I decided to call to make a reservation, fearing the typical Sunday crowds. Despite the hour, they responded promptly and courteously, and I booked a table for 12:30. We arrived in Boville around 11:00, and, passing by the restaurant, I stopped by to check on the reservation. From the outside, it wasn't particularly impressive, but as soon as we stepped inside, a whole new world opened up: an ancient, well-kept, authentic setting, perfectly in keeping with the village. I met the chef, who confirmed the reservation with great kindness. During our stroll through the village, we also discovered the other restaurant owned by the same owners, Il Frantoio: here too, a simple exterior but a surprising interior, tastefully furnished and historically consistent. We'll definitely be back to try it. At 12:30, we return to L'Altro Frantoio and are greeted by the kind and attentive staff, who immediately put us at ease. We decide to share an appetizer and continue with a first course: tonnarelli with asparagus, crispy pancetta, and zucchini flowers. To drink, sparkling water and a half liter of slightly sparkling Cesanese, a perfect choice and much appreciated by my partner. The appetizers arrive beautifully presented, carefully explained by the waitresses, and prepared with evident attention to quality. The bread, enriched with walnut pieces, is also excellent. The first course is generous and tasty, so much so that we forgo the main course for dessert. I choose a hazelnut sphere, my partner a white chocolate ganache: both delicious. To finish on a high note, a barrel-aged grappa for me and a ratafia for her. The only small flaw: they don't serve coffee. The bill was another pleasant surprise: €49 for two, a truly reasonable price considering the quality, quantity, and attention to detail. What's more, we finished lunch in just an hour and a quarter, perfect for continuing our visit to the village without wasting time. In conclusion: I highly recommend this place, both for its authentic, local cuisine and for its atmosphere, which perfectly reflects the spirit of Boville Ernica.

On a Sunday lunch, the crowded and noisy atmosphere prevented us from fully enjoying the pleasures of the table. Some dishes certainly deserve to be savored with due caution.

I had only heard about Simone, his staff, and the deliciousness of the dishes. Being there confirmed everything I'd been told. The friendly, young, and welcoming staff make you feel like family. The dishes are simply delicious, the appetizers plentiful and rich. The homemade lasagna is simply divine. Guys, I hope to return soon.

This is our second time dining at this restaurant, and both times everything was impeccable, starting with the hospitality and warmth of the staff. The appetizers and first courses were sensational, with high-quality, fresh ingredients, including the second courses! Vegan and vegetarian options are also available: sophisticated and unique dishes, rich in aromas and colors...in short, not your average grilled vegetables! It was truly enjoyable. The last detail, if not the most important, is that Simone will always welcome you with a smile and such kindness. We'll be back very soon.

A warm welcome and motivated young people run this restaurant, whose only flaw is its slightly dated decor, which doesn't quite match the food offered, which is rooted in local tradition (the restaurant is very traditionally furnished and lacks individuality). The dishes are carefully crafted, tasty, simple, yet original. They focus primarily on showcasing local products, serving them with meticulous attention to detail. They cater to all dietary needs: gluten-free, cheese-free, vegetarian, and vegan. It's a pleasant conversation with the young owner, who is full of enthusiasm and cheerfulness.
