Possibly the best gelato in Monza! A wide variety of flavors and very sophisticated combinations.
Despite the line outside the shop, the staff are quick and efficient. They may not be very empathetic, but you definitely won't have to wait too long for your gelato! The granitas are delicious, especially the lemon one, which I often get to take home after a fish dinner 😉
€28 per kilo for gelato, however, seems way too much to me...
So, the gelato is good, but the price is outrageous.

Is it the nature of the soul, that when it is filled with expectation, then finds wonder lighter? Is it the applause received from more people that obscures the precision of art? Or fame that veils the mind of the craftsman, making it less alert? Or, perhaps, was I myself visited by adverse fate and dropped on an unpropitious day?
I was led, with confidence and a happy spirit, to try the sweet ice shop, which was much talked about in modern streets, especially in the channels of the speaking vulgar, called, nowadays, "social". I confess, I did not know its name, nor the boast, and therefore I approached with a light heart, without anxiety or pretensions.
To receive me there were trophies and signs of honor, carefully placed in view to hearten the guest and pay off the promise made by the one who accompanied me. So I began to taste not because of hunger, but because of gluttony, which often leads a man beyond need, in search of pure delight.
And behold: if flavors are children of personal judgment, and as varied as the winds over the lands, I do not dare to pass condemnation, nor to sing praises where they are not deserved. However, I dare say this: the licorice, as also honestly announced by the one who presided over the counter, was among the most memorable that ever touched my lips. Rare, pure, powerful, decisive, as are the Calabrian people.
The remaining creams, of another shape and flavor, also showed themselves good, but did not know how to rise above the common. Of them it can be said that they please, but do not inflame.
There is, however, a constant virtue that runs through every cup: the raw material, worthy of nobility, and the artisan hand that knows how to make every flavor creamy with wonderful sweetness. As for the final result, it remains a field of dispute between palates and preferences, because as the wise man said: "de gustibus non est disputandum".
I will return, however, because the memory of the licorice still speaks to me, and the cheesecake awaits me as a sweet promise.
