La viletta is an interesting and rustic place. I went there for the famous "pasta cofane," which my Roman friends said were enormous. I wasn't disappointed; we had a tartare appetizer to start, followed by a different pasta dish each. I had amatriciana, my friends carbonara and gricia, respectively. Over 200 grams of pleasure, the pasta was delicious, well-cooked, with quality ingredients, including expertly cooked guanciale. To say I mopped up the pasta immediately afterward would be an understatement.
The only small flaw was the service at the beginning. They left us at our table without even a menu; I went over to ask for one myself, and from that moment on, they decided to take care of our table. Aside from this small slip, which can happen, no problem, the experience was extremely positive. Long live Rome, long live the pasta cofane, and long live the pasta cofane.

The courgette flowers were good but not exceptional, the cod fillet tasteless. The pasta dishes were overly generous, and out of three, only one was appreciated. The steaks were generous but not very tender. The broccoli was good, perhaps the best dish. The wine was overpriced. Overall, the price wasn't worth the quality, perhaps the quantity.

i chose this restaurant on the recommendation of of our food tour guide and was not disappointed. the welcome was warm, and altjough as a single diner i couldn't have the tasting menu, i had a fabulous steamed artichoke heart, melt-in-your mouth eggplant and a massive dish of padta, pork cheek, pumpkin and pecorino. this last dish, while ample was very salty, due to the ingredients and some added salt.

Everything was great. Quality and quantity are two words that don't always go together.

A typical restaurant serving authentic Roman cuisine, a must-visit if you're visiting Rome. It can be a little crowded when it's busy, but then again, it's always busy! Precisely because the food is so good. I recommend booking in advance.

We spent two days in Rome and two days we went to lunch here, absolutely only positive things: fabulous flavors, very generous portions, carefully prepared dishes despite the heavy flow of people and the staff from the waiters to the owner were helpful, professional and very kind, even the prices are perfect for the product they offer. The first time we leave a restaurant so satisfied!!!
