We went last night on a hot Roman evening, luckily we had booked because it was fully booked. Very nice environment, kind and professional staff, the owner who walks around the rooms in person makes you feel at home. Regarding the fresh and crunchy mixed fried menu (nothing industrial, you can feel it is homemade), surprise (first time I go) "cofano" of pasta: a carbonara, a gricia and an amatriciana with pici, all three spectacular. Last but not least, three Annamaria tiramisu served in a mocha filled both top and bottom.... really excellent, very good red wine and the very right price for the whole complex. Congrats until next time.

This historic Roman cuisine restaurant, located a stone's throw from the Piramide Cestia in the Ostiense area, has been a pillar of the local gastronomic tradition since 1940. Claudio, known by regulars as "l'Oste", manages to keep this legacy alive by combining tradition a pinch of innovation in some dishes, without ever betraying the authenticity of a true Roman tavern.
During my visits I have had the opportunity to taste a variety of dishes, both traditional and revisited, and I can confidently say that this restaurant is a mandatory stop for anyone in Rome.
Let's move on to the description of the dishes, starting from the appetizers. The choice is vast and includes meatballs, vegetables and legumes, fried foods, tripe and porchetta. Nobody is disappointed, that's guaranteed. A special mention goes to the carbonara meatballs and sauce.
The strong point of the restaurant are undoubtedly the first courses. The selection of Roman first courses is exceptional, with all the classic recipes and some revisitations. The amatriciana and carbonara are sensational, of the highest standard, offering an authentic flavor of Rome. Also noteworthy are the innovative variations such as carbonara with truffle flakes, although it should not be recommended for those who do not particularly like truffles, since the real one is used, which gives an intense and distinct flavour. The portions are generous and very satisfying, so it is advisable to come with a good appetite.
Finally, the desserts represent the restaurant's touch of class. Impeccably presented, they offer a sweet flavor that transforms the tavern into a pastry shop. I highly recommend trying the "Trionfo MeCoj…oni", a tray of different desserts accompanied by a large bowl of eggnog and Nutella ice cream, an experience not to be missed.
In conclusion, this restaurant not only preserves the tradition of Roman cuisine, but does so with a quality and passion that makes it an unmissable place for anyone who loves good food.

We went to La Villetta for dinner on a weekday. We made the booking online directly from their website, it was very simple and very fast. The staff was really kind and by commenting on the names of the dishes together we had 4 laughs together. You can't help but take one of the traditional Roman first courses, they are delicious and really a "chest", maybe it's better to divide them in two but don't ask for half portions 😂... The tiramisu that comes inside a mocha is highly recommended. . Nice to look at and delicious.. Super recommended place..

Nice historic place in Rome where you can taste tradition in a welcoming and refined environment. Abundant dishes and courtesy of the staff. Prices above average but the photos of VIPs stand out on display and a few euros more is fine 😉

What can I say... a very well-kept place in a very strategic area, namely Piramide.
We ate appetizers and first courses and with those generous portions we stopped there.
The thing I really appreciated about the starters is certainly the freshness and quality.
I had the cacio e pepe and it is among the 5 best ever.
A friend of mine took the amatriciana and it looked amazing!!!
Honest prices.
So I will be back very soon!!!
The only flaw is the air conditioning. Not adequate for the size of the room especially with the heat these days.

Typical Roman resonant well known in Rome. Very good top food. Typical Roman dishes served in very large bowls. Prices quite high compared to average. Very chic and refined place. Although it is very large, it is always full so it is best to book.

Forse avevo un’aspettativa molto alta viste le recensioni, ma non è stata una cena indimenticabile.
Porchetta e polpette buone, la carbonara era decisamente troppo salata.
Personale gentilissimo e disponibile.
Prezzo buono.
