For lunch on Sunday 14 July, pleasant inn. Easy-going, but very friendly people.
Nice waiters, young guys; is "willing". The lunch was "excellent", the dessert was wow. The atmosphere of the place is certainly beautiful in its characteristic. I did not visit the cellars, to continue on to other places. I return with gusto, then Predappio Alta and exquisite, then have a good visit to P. and enjoy the moustache; greedy.

I was on a trip to Predappio, found this fantastic place in Alta Predappio, the owner was really kind and friendly, we were 2 hours late due to traffic jams on the motorway, he was always available for delays, anyway really nice trattoria with an ancient history inside worth visiting, plentiful dishes and delicious, excellent service and no rush in eating despite the time due to me, however I will return for many positive reasons

Menu with few dishes, genuine and well prepared. Fair costs. Friendly and friendly service. Rustic and very pleasant atmosphere. Worth visiting are the museum cellars

..è stata una scoperta questo luogo, personale e gestore gentile, ma purtroppo la cucina è lenta, senza fretta, merita la visita alle cantine ottocentesche, la carta dei vini non esiste, sangiovese della casa.....

A lunch in a truly historic place in every sense. Both for the long tradition of hospitality and food and wine offer in the beautiful village of Predappio Alta, and because inside it you can descend two flights of stairs to see the old cellars of the town with some barrels still present. Very interesting.
From a gastronomic point of view, the offer is based on simple local cuisine, but not only. In fact, on the cheese platter there are some products that come from the surrounding area, such as the excellent Sardinian pecorino with truffles. The cold cuts platter is also very good and plentiful and is served with classic piadinas and with the house invention, the Piavina where Sangiovese is added to the dough.
For the second course I was able to eat a decent grilled chicken.
To accompany the lunch, a discreet pure Sangiovese di Romagna from Fattoria Nicolucci.

After visiting Predappio, the cemetery and Mussolini's house, we had lunch at the vecia cantena. Everything perfect, starter of cured meats, passatelli with bacon and lamb chops shared with 2 others. All was drunk with 2018 San Giovese wine
Drank 2 bottles. The cellar is worth a visit... well done

I am from Romagna but have been transplanted to Veneto for 30 years, a return to my native lands and a lunch with my wife at Vecia Cantena D'La Pre'. We took simple dishes, dishes from my childhood. A bruschetta, excellent in everything, from the right "searing" of the bread to the mix of flavours, a tagliatelle with wild boar ragu, rough, generously seasoned, thick and cooked... like my mother's, I was moved.
Finally, a tasting of cheeses, among which a 30-month pit-matured cheese stood out, and this is where they brought us piadina and piaVina, an evolution invented by chef Barbara, you can't tell the pairing with the cheeses, you can only taste it . All while drinking a Sangiovese... well, it was born as a cellar, granted it was up to par.
Lastly, the price is very honest.

La Vecia Cantena D'La Pre', una perla nascosta a Predappio Alta, offre un'esperienza culinaria e culturale senza eguali. Visitata a Gennaio 2024 con la mia famiglia, ci ha rapiti con il suo fascino intramontabile.
Immersi nel suggestivo contesto delle cantine medievali, siamo stati trasportati indietro nel tempo. Le mura che raccontano secoli di storia e la scalinata che conduce dalle epoche medioevali a quelle romane creano un'atmosfera unica e avvolgente.
La cucina romagnola si esprime al massimo delle sue potenzialità. Dai primi piatti alla fiorentina, ogni boccone è un viaggio nei sapori autentici della tradizione locale. Il Garganelli ha riscattato la leggera sottostima di quantità del bis di primi, mostrandosi eccellente.
Il personale e il titolare incarnano l'essenza dell'ospitalità romagnola: gentilezza e disponibilità accompagnano ogni momento della cena, rendendola ancora più memorabile.
Consigli per i Visitatori: Non perdetevi l'opportunità di esplorare le cantine sotterranee, un viaggio nel passato che arricchisce l'esperienza culinaria. E non dimenticate di assaggiare la torta alle mele, un vero capolavoro da non perdere.
La Vecia Cantena D'La Pre' è molto più di un ristorante: è un tuffo nell'autenticità della Romagna, un incontro tra storia e gastronomia che lascia un'impronta indelebile nel cuore e nel palato. Consigliatissimo per un'esperienza autentica e genuina.
