I thought long and hard about whether to apply here, because I really want it to remain an insider tip. You arrive and feel welcome. The hosts, Anna and Pino, really deserve 10 stars. The room was spacious and clean. The food was delicious and just what you'd imagine Italy to be. We were able to recharge our batteries here on our way to Rome, in this peaceful spot.

This lovely place is located almost lost in the Rieti countryside, near Selci, and can be reached via fairly narrow hilly roads. The view of the surrounding hills and valleys is enchanting. La Vecchia Quercia has a large car parking area near the entrance, and is equipped with finely furnished rooms to welcome tourists. The restaurant is divided into several rooms and lounges furnished with simplicity and taste. The menu features various courses, all of which are particularly good. These are dishes linked to local tradition. In particular, the pasta and bread are homemade, by the expert hands of the owners. The strengozzi, fettuccine and ravioli stand out, with condiments of your choice. The meats are sublime, particularly the lamb, goose and wild boar. The cellar offers local labels of various origins. It is worth leaving Rome to have lunch or dinner in this place surrounded by nature.

So, if by chance you happen to enter the Old Oak and someone buzzes around you and goes around and around and never stops hyperactively stop them immediately. It's Joseph! the owner who seems like a crazy bumblebee and very nice. He has an athletic allure and although he is no longer a beginner you will struggle to keep up with him. He follows you, anticipates you, serves you food as much as he can, he is hospitable and his wife is a great cook. I stayed with him, I had a great time and I met new friends. See you next time Giuseppe, thanks for the hospitality, the endless vegetarian starter and the nettle ravioli, highly recommended!

Location surrounded by greenery within a garden which already announces the restaurant's approach to rediscovering the good flavors of the past and genuinely home-made cuisine.
We tasted some very tasty artichokes and the La Vecchia Quercia appetizer (super abundant), very appetizing first courses (very generous portions) and the incredible polenta both with ribs and sausages and the mushrooms and truffle one.
All good, plentiful and very tasty.
Friendly and quick service. Old-time trattoria prices!
It immediately became one of the favorite restaurants to visit as soon as possible!
