Welcoming and very clean atmosphere, well-set table, €4 cover charge (!), personally I'm a traditionalist and don't appreciate the QR code menu and wine list, but upon request they also provide a paper copy. We ordered "His Majesty," the main course of cod with fresh polenta, but it didn't impress anyone; it was a mediocre dish with stringy fish. The wine arrived halfway through.
Prices are in line with the fraternity restaurants but far from traditional.

I came to this place specifically to try the cod selection, as it's highly recommended. We tried Guerini's "Viaggio" (a specialty of cod), the "Coppia di Baccalà" (a combination of cod and fried cod), the "Roost" (fried cod), and the "Mediterranean" octopus. The "Baccalà alla Vicentina" (Vicenza-style cod) was very good, and the "Caccalà mantecato" (creamed cod) was good but not exceptional. The "Caccalà in umido" (stewed cod), on the other hand, wasn't quite to my taste. The fried cod was good, crispy, and plentiful. The staff was professional and helpful, yet discreet, and the place was very well-kept and elegant. It's a bit more expensive, but the place is definitely worth it.

In the Vicenza area for work, I asked my client where I could enjoy excellent cod in the area. At this request, a young woman leaned back in her chair and, with the eyes of a lover, sighed, "Al Palmerino."
I thought to myself, if it has this effect, then let's go there.
As soon as I arrived at the restaurant, which is easy to find and has plenty of free parking in front, I knew I'd made the right choice.
A place of understated and informal elegance, where you can feel the history of the place, brought to the present day.
Discreet and attentive service, ready to advise and pamper the customer on this journey of discovery of stockfish. We are in a temple of cod, expertly prepared in various ways, all excellent.
Accompanying me on this journey are excellent pairings with an appropriate wine list.
As a final treat, I chose the pear and jam strudel accompanied by vanilla sauce, but there are other delicacies I'll definitely try next time.
Excellent quality and reasonable prices make this place an absolute must-try for an important business lunch/dinner, an evening with pleasant company, or a special occasion.
I have no doubt... cod in Sondrigo is called "Al Palmerino."

Coming from Piedmont for work, if you have a free evening, it's natural to look for a place where you can eat cod properly. The hotel manager, when I asked for information, had no hesitation: Palmerino in Sandrigo!!!
And Palmerino it is. The atmosphere is impeccably maintained, welcoming, with just the right amount of space between the tables to ensure a peaceful and relaxing evening. Pino welcomed us, a man I'd call a maitre d' from another era; I'd place him at the Cambio restaurant in Turin during the time of Cavour!! Extremely kind without being intrusive, discreet and even friendly. He took us by the hand and guided us through the choice of dishes and wine. The perfect way to pamper guests and make you feel like the center of attention. The cod, presented in various forms, is truly the best of the best, accompanied by an exceptional local white wine: Vespaiolo Superiore. If you're even 150 km away, I can assure you it's worth the detour. The price is very fair.

It's August 16th, 9:00 a.m., and I have a business lunch scheduled with a foreign supplier.
I happily choose a restaurant I know, that I appreciate, and that I would have liked him to discover.
The restaurant appears open on Google: excellent, I think.
To be fair, I call anyway to make a reservation: first around 10:00 a.m., then at 11:00 a.m. No answer.
Only later do I discover that the restaurant was closed for vacation, without this information being listed on the Google page.
In 2023, with simple and immediate tools available, this is a detail that can unfortunately create real inconvenience, especially when it comes to a business lunch.

A restaurant belonging to the Confraternita
del Baccalà (Baccharide Brotherhood), where you can enjoy excellent food and sample cod in all its forms. The restaurant is welcoming, with free parking. The service is excellent, and they also take care of their youngest guests. Highly recommended.
