La Torre In Ghilarza

This is one of those - exceedingly rare - places where you just feel home. The term “bar” doesn't adequately characterise the place as they have a lower floor with tables which is more like a tavern. The place is family-run and you get food as real as it gets. If you are looking for a fancy restaurant, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a place with real food made almost like your Italian grandma would prepare it, where locals go to eat good, basic, food at a very reasonable price, look no further! I'm always looking for this type of place and, after I discovered it, I went there two days in a row (for lunch, as they only work for lunch). Great place for home-cooked meals... Friendly and welcoming staff... Well worth a visit for a taste of homemade Sardinian cuisine.

A place as historic as the tower. Time seems to have stood still in this basement restaurant. Everything is very good. Homemade cuisine, not in tune with current fads. Perhaps the price is a little above average for the whole package.
