La Tavernetta Ristorante Pizzeria In Calopezzati

Typical family-run cuisine in a very interesting setting

La Tavernetta is one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The owners, Pierino, the chef, and Giovanna, the head waiter, are spectacular and impeccable. Every item on the menu is excellent. The Calabrian appetizers are the best; I recommend it to anyone who's never tried them. The pizzas are, well, for me, the best pizza in the world.... The pastas, all homemade, are delicious. And the meats, which I've only tried once because I can't stop ordering pizza, are also phenomenal. This restaurant has been a symbol of Calopezzati since I was a child, and it's always been one of my go-to places. You can usually find them open around 1 a.m. for a quick pizza, returning from a night out. People who complain about the long waits don't understand that good food takes time, and since it's a very large restaurant with a relatively small kitchen, they do what they can. I've never minded having to wait for a pizza from Pierino!! The service is fast, drinks come out quickly, and appetizers too. What more could you ask for?

I've been coming here all my life, for the traditional dishes and Piero's magnificent peppers and potatoes, see you next year.

Small, original, welcoming environment

A small village that has remained untouched by modernity, with narrow streets and alleys like a 1900s postcard. Local and very good food.

A small trattoria in the center of Calopezzati with a breathtaking view. Authentic and plentiful food, featuring local specialties. The prices are also quite reasonable. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this corner of Calabria, rich in tradition.

A genuine place to eat well at very fair prices. Pietro's grilled food is fantastic, and the lady has exceptional sensitivity and care for her customers. Aside from this rich and tasty appetizer made with locally sourced products, the grilled meat is sublime. It's truly a wonderful way to spend a lovely evening and feel at home.

Everything was delicious, especially the cold cuts. We stopped at the appetizer, which was incredibly generous. Highly recommended.
