I'm on vacation in Ortigia and I've tried this place twice for lunch. The food is exceptional, and the staff is professional and very warm. I highly recommend the fried fish and lemon sorbet; I think they're the best I've had so far.

On the recommendation of the B&B owners, we booked dinner at Tavernetta da Piero, taking the opportunity to visit Ortigia. At the entrance, a blackboard displays the daily specials, which we obviously prefer to the à la carte menu, as it always guarantees fresh ingredients.
Rigatoni with tuna ragù, swordfish rolls, grilled red tuna, cannoli... Everything fresh, delicious in its simplicity and flavors, with generous portions. The wine list is quite extensive.
Since the restaurant is medium-sized, reservations are required to avoid long waits.
Attentive service, and the bill was average—even a little less given the area—and what we ordered.

Perfect place to eat well in Ortigia. Food prepared with great care and attentive service. In a highly touristy place like Ortigia, such attention to detail is not a given. Special mention for Katia, who served us with professionalism and friendliness. We'll be back soon. Thank you.

We were greeted poorly and served poorly. Only at the end of the dinner was the waiter kind.
When I came in to pay, the lady at the cash register didn't say hello before or after payment, nor did she thank us. We felt like they were doing us a favor by being there... a shame.
The fried food was good, the shrimp tartare soaked in lemon, and the tuna tartare was unseasoned (and they hadn't brought any oil or salt to the table). In short, a real shame.

Overall, it was a good experience. The food, lighting, and serving were all excellent. However, the bread basket was placed on the table before we even got there, as if it had been prepared for a long time. Initially, we had to wait a bit to order, perhaps because there were many people. Aside from the lack of wine service, their attitude seemed to change depending on whether we spoke Italian or not, which made us feel a little different. But later everything was very fast, especially the Black staff who served us, which made us feel respected and that the service was prompt. I recommend it, thank you!

Very nice restaurant serving authentic Sicilian food. We loved it. It's a shame we're leaving tomorrow, otherwise I would have made a reservation again.
