Difficult to find in the Rome area, but in Anagni we discovered a real gem: La Taverna del Sor Okillo. Not only will you find different varieties of authentic Valencian paella, but you will immerse yourself in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Simone Stazi, with his overwhelming friendliness, the perfect host, knows how to make every guest feel at ease. Simone perfectly embodies Italian warmth and Spanish soul, he talks about each dish with passion, revealing its details and curiosities. And to end on a high note, let yourself be tempted by the Catalan: a perfect ending to an overwhelming culinary experience. The recipe for creme brulee? “one liter of milk 8 egg yolks 250 grams of sugar 2 squeezes of organic lemon and 2 cinnamon sticks. The lemon tastes better if it is taken from the neighbor's garden...” This is the tenor….. If you want to experience an experience of sunny hilarity in a corner of Spain, book in advance... it's worth it!

Today was a truly wonderful day! The sun was shining, the atmosphere was relaxed and everything was perfect from start to finish. But the real protagonist was lunch: a simply exceptional paella, full of authentic flavors and very fresh ingredients. Every bite told of the tradition and passion with which it was prepared. What made the experience even more special was the impeccable welcome: kindness, attention to detail and an ever-present smile. We felt pampered and at home, a true example of hospitality. If you are looking for a place to enjoy an excellent paella and experience an unforgettable day, this is undoubtedly the perfect place!

Excellent discovery, an experience definitely worth repeating. If you happen to be in Anagni, instead of going in search of typical cuisine (which can reserve unpleasant surprises) I recommend the excellent Spanish cuisine offered by the Taverna del Sor Okillo and in particular by the Spanish wife of the owner Simone (I apologize if I don't name her, but I don't know his name). In addition to being able to taste a paella with an unparalleled flavour, the good Simone enlivens the lunch with explanations, anecdotes and curiosities from the Spanish world, linked to the dishes served. The icing on the cake: their creme brulee. I haven't tried anything this good even during a week's holiday in Barcelona. A warm thank you also to Alessandro, Simone's collaborator. His education and kindness are disarming.

This place cheered us up on Sunday. Walking through the beautiful city of Anagni we are looking for a place to eat, we come across this Spanish restaurant on Google and we decide to go. The place is small and comfortable, we find room for 2 because there were some reservations. It seems to be always full and difficult to find a seat. They serve a fixed menu for €25, consisting of tapas, Paella (the one they decided to make that day, we ended up with the fish one) and creme brulee. The tapas they brought us were truly exquisite, sublime. The paella was very good, plentiful and full of fish. The crispier part that forms on the bottom is excellent. We took home the remaining third, also invited by the owner, because we were full and we were sorry to have it thrown away. The creme brulee was also good, very different from those I had already eaten. The owner is very present, explains the dishes and is very friendly and dedicated to his job which he obviously likes a lot. The cook is his wife, Valenciana. There is also a really nice guy who serves the tables. We also ordered a sangria, which I generally don't like, but it was very good and suitable for the meal because it was not very sweet and light. In short, as I also said in person to the owner Maurizio, well done everyone and thank you for this excellent Sunday lunch.

The restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend and we were actually really satisfied. First of all, we appreciated the friendliness and kindness of the owner who presented us with all the dishes, also adding some curiosities about Spanish cuisine. The fixed menu includes tapas, paella of your choice and creme brulee at a very honest price. All the dishes are delicious, in particular the paella is excellent and we liked it more than those we tasted in Spain. The sangria is also good. A children's menu is also available which includes mixed cold cuts, breaded chicken and chips. It is definitely worth trying this restaurant, even if as in our case you have to travel a bit.

We celebrated our daughter's wedding at Tenuta Il Sogno, in Piglio, and it was truly an unforgettable day, also thanks to the extraordinary dedication and professionalism of the team that manages this wonderful location. From the first meeting, the boys fell in love with the beauty of the place and the courtesy with which we were welcomed by the hosts, who were able to organize every detail with care and attention. The 15 hectares of manicured gardens and the elegant restaurant, managed by impeccable staff, created a perfect atmosphere for such a special event. Each dish was exquisite, the service prompt and attentive, making the dining experience live up to expectations. We were also lucky enough to stay in the new structure made available by the estate for guests who need to stay, the HERITAGE Hotel in Fiuggi, a few minutes from the estate and the magnificent Cathedral of Anagni, where the ceremony took place religious. The hotel is finely finished, equipped with all comforts and managed by a trained and welcoming staff, always ready to satisfy every need. It was the perfect place to relax after a busy day, and you can clearly see the passion and expertise with which this establishment is run. All set in the historical and fascinating context of the Cathedral of Anagni, a place rich in history, with its breathtaking mosaics and the fame of having been the scene of the "great refusal" of Pope Celestine V. A perfect setting for a solemn wedding ceremony and suggestive. We sincerely thank all the staff of Tenuta Il Sogno and Hotel HERITAGE for making this day so special. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a location that offers not only beauty, but also professionalism and attention to detail. Everything was just perfect! Thanks to the availability of David, Rossella, Giulia and Lorenzo, and of the legendary concierge Marco, lover of good manners and "engines", a character to know who gives excellent advice on where to eat delicacies from his area, without a doubt

I thank Giulia very much, who immediately made herself available to me, advising me on any issue, as if she were my wedding planner! And also Rossella, who perfectly captured my tastes by creating the setups just as I imagined them! Thanks also to all the rest of the staff for making this day special!

La Locanda del Ditirambo

20/01/2025: An Inn that is a jewel; and it seems normal that certain jewels are not found on the street, you have to deserve them. Catering is a strange exercise: the customer pays for a service and evaluates what he has received in exchange for money. The Locanda del Ditirambo is one of the rare places, rare even in Ciociaria, where not only this is offered, where not only work but also passion is brought into play, where you feel the people inside the things, and the effort becomes pleasure, luxury. Of course, nothing is perfect, but everything has a different meaning for the customer when it is understood that on the other hand they want at all costs, with stubbornness, to improve things, and perhaps improve an already good product, go further, and then even what seem like small imperfections become a necessary part of beauty, not only because they make it domestic and affable. Here, let's talk about the menu, quite small (which is almost always a guarantee of a job done in-house and done well); but first of all I would like to talk about the bread, which the chef prepares himself, delicious. Then, without being linear, I'm surprised by the desserts, which you won't find in any other restaurant, because they don't come from a van, from a factory, from a pastry shop, but from these four walls: what a spectacle! What a spectacle a chef who breaks his head to bring you his own desserts at the end of the meal, and makes them as God commands! The trio of starters imposes itself as a must, with the potato pie as the prince, a great invention; then the meat second courses, with the excellent pork neck with smoky and sweet and sour notes, and a traditional bufaletta (Ciociaria buffalo stew) among the best I have ever tasted. I will return, yes of course, and I will return for the first courses, which I have not tasted; and for the cellar, which seems really well stocked. It is a place where, unless you are very dense, you return: a place of the heart.
