Difficult to find in the Rome area, but in Anagni we discovered a real gem: La Taverna del Sor Okillo. Not only will you find different varieties of authentic Valencian paella, but you will immerse yourself in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Simone Stazi, with his overwhelming friendliness, the perfect host, knows how to make every guest feel at ease. Simone perfectly embodies Italian warmth and Spanish soul, he talks about each dish with passion, revealing its details and curiosities. And to end on a high note, let yourself be tempted by the Catalan: a perfect ending to an overwhelming culinary experience. The recipe for creme brulee? “one liter of milk 8 egg yolks 250 grams of sugar 2 squeezes of organic lemon and 2 cinnamon sticks. The lemon tastes better if it is taken from the neighbor's garden...” This is the tenor….. If you want to experience an experience of sunny hilarity in a corner of Spain, book in advance... it's worth it!

Today was a truly wonderful day! The sun was shining, the atmosphere was relaxed and everything was perfect from start to finish. But the real protagonist was lunch: a simply exceptional paella, full of authentic flavors and very fresh ingredients. Every bite told of the tradition and passion with which it was prepared. What made the experience even more special was the impeccable welcome: kindness, attention to detail and an ever-present smile. We felt pampered and at home, a true example of hospitality. If you are looking for a place to enjoy an excellent paella and experience an unforgettable day, this is undoubtedly the perfect place!

Excellent discovery, an experience definitely worth repeating. If you happen to be in Anagni, instead of going in search of typical cuisine (which can reserve unpleasant surprises) I recommend the excellent Spanish cuisine offered by the Taverna del Sor Okillo and in particular by the Spanish wife of the owner Simone (I apologize if I don't name her, but I don't know his name). In addition to being able to taste a paella with an unparalleled flavour, the good Simone enlivens the lunch with explanations, anecdotes and curiosities from the Spanish world, linked to the dishes served. The icing on the cake: their creme brulee. I haven't tried anything this good even during a week's holiday in Barcelona. A warm thank you also to Alessandro, Simone's collaborator. His education and kindness are disarming.

Top friendliness kindness excellent welcome paelia

This place cheered us up on Sunday. Walking through the beautiful city of Anagni we are looking for a place to eat, we come across this Spanish restaurant on Google and we decide to go. The place is small and comfortable, we find room for 2 because there were some reservations. It seems to be always full and difficult to find a seat. They serve a fixed menu for €25, consisting of tapas, Paella (the one they decided to make that day, we ended up with the fish one) and creme brulee. The tapas they brought us were truly exquisite, sublime. The paella was very good, plentiful and full of fish. The crispier part that forms on the bottom is excellent. We took home the remaining third, also invited by the owner, because we were full and we were sorry to have it thrown away. The creme brulee was also good, very different from those I had already eaten. The owner is very present, explains the dishes and is very friendly and dedicated to his job which he obviously likes a lot. The cook is his wife, Valenciana. There is also a really nice guy who serves the tables. We also ordered a sangria, which I generally don't like, but it was very good and suitable for the meal because it was not very sweet and light. In short, as I also said in person to the owner Maurizio, well done everyone and thank you for this excellent Sunday lunch.

The restaurant was highly recommended to us by a friend and we were actually really satisfied. First of all, we appreciated the friendliness and kindness of the owner who presented us with all the dishes, also adding some curiosities about Spanish cuisine. The fixed menu includes tapas, paella of your choice and creme brulee at a very honest price. All the dishes are delicious, in particular the paella is excellent and we liked it more than those we tasted in Spain. The sangria is also good. A children's menu is also available which includes mixed cold cuts, breaded chicken and chips. It is definitely worth trying this restaurant, even if as in our case you have to travel a bit.
