We went to Il Frantoio for Sunday lunch and the experience was decidedly positive. To be safe, we had booked that morning, and from the first phone call, the staff was friendly and helpful. 🏰 Location The restaurant is located in a truly evocative setting, perfectly in keeping with the medieval atmosphere of Boville Ernica. The rooms are well-kept, welcoming, and have a rustic touch that makes everything more authentic. 🍽️ What we ate We started with a house antipasto, split in two: - fresh cured meats and cheeses - bresaola with arugula - sautéed mushrooms - homemade white and red pizza, fragrant and very tasty A simple but well-made start, with fresh ingredients and clean flavors. For our first courses, we chose: - Paccheri with bacon and asparagus: a balanced dish, flavorful without being heavy. - Homemade lasagna: traditional, rich, and beautifully gratinated, pure comfort food. We were already full, so no second courses. We moved straight to dessert with a homemade tiramisu: creamy, not too sweet, and truly a success. All washed down with Ferrarelle mineral water and a slightly sparkling local Cesanese, perfect for the cuisine. To finish, an "old-fashioned" coffee made with a moka pot and a bitter liqueur, as tradition dictates. 👥 Service Friendly, attentive, and always available staff, without ever being intrusive. A plus that makes all the difference. 💶 Price Final bill: €45 for two. Excellent restaurant with exposed stone walls. The dishes aren't overwhelming, but they're authentic and delicious, from appetizers to dessert. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the owners, all family members, are welcoming and friendly. We'll definitely return again and again.
