The food is top-notch and served excellently! The value for money, among other things, makes you want to return time and time again, especially because the excellent quality of the meat pairs so well with the preparation methods. The first courses are also very good and typical of Calabrian tradition. Frankly, I don't understand the negative reviews I've read in some reviews. I've been twice on very busy days, yet the service was commensurate with the number of people. I highly recommend it.

My wife and I were returning from vacation from Tropea. I was headed toward Bari, but we still had two hours to go, so we decided to stop for something to eat. Suddenly, I saw a large open space to my left, full of people entering a restaurant with the sign "La taverna del macellaio" (The Butcher's Tavern). We decided to stop. We were lucky because we ate very well. We'll be back.

Un posto di passaggio per andare dalla Calabria in puglia. Un tantino alti i prezzi . La cotoletta era secca . Diciamo nella media ma non eccezionale.

15/06/2025: I have lived in Cosenza for 25 years and did not know this restaurant Pleasantly surprised (I have traveled far and wide throughout Italy and even half of Europe) if I write that it is a good restaurant it is with full knowledge of the facts.
15/06/2025: The cuisine is the real strong point: balanced dishes, excellent raw materials and a presentation of haute cuisine. The menu is seasonal and well-studied, with proposals that enhance the territory with a creative touch. Absolutely recommended! We will be back soon.

06/09/2025: We only had a prime rib and a bottle of excellent wine, but I have to say that everything was delicious and top-quality at a fair price. The service could be improved.
