We decided to have lunch here given the reviews, but I won't go beyond enough. Certainly a nice location and very friendly staff. In my opinion, the dishes all need to be reviewed. We took a cold hot starter which was very lacking in heat and the meatballs and pancakes were really miniature. Sliced as normal. The potato pie was more of a taste than a portion, I would say given the price of €8 I was expecting something more generous and the mushrooms just an extra. For first courses, homemade white pasta with chopped meat and mushrooms and spaghetti alla pecoraia. The former lacked flavor, the latter too loaded with cheese. The sausage and loin were good, but it was a shame about the stew lacking in odors and salt and the mbacchiuse potatoes, which weren't mbacchiuse. The bitterness is good.

Thursday evening in San Giovanni in fiore, the usual group of eight friends decides to go to dinner at the Taverna del Gioachimita. Upon arrival, the first glance is very pleasant: we discover that the tables are set in the streets surrounding the restaurant of Giulio Cesare (the owner) who welcomes us with a reassuring and friendly smile. As soon as we sat down (we had booked) Anton Giulio (the owner's son) introduced himself, graduating from a faculty of economics (something like business planning and/or something similar) who helped his father and Giuseppe in his free hours who greeted us and asked us what we like to drink. Then Giulio Cesare returns and describes the appetizers and first courses to us, we choose after his precious explanations and we begin, after a short toast with a Quattrolustri from the Serrracavallo cellars (a truly appreciable red) we begin to taste the excellent appetizers and then follow the various first courses and the side dishes prepared with great care by the gracious and talented Lady Giovanna who approached the table at the end of dinner to greet us and receive our due compliments. We didn't consume the second courses that we saw being served at the other tables and which promised very well (we couldn't because we were already satisfied with the appetizers, first courses and side dishes) and we forced ourselves to return to taste them another evening. To conclude, many thanks and congratulations to everyone; ah, Gioele also deserves to be mentioned, if I remember correctly, he is also good and kind. Today we had the pleasure of having lunch at the Taverna del Gioachimita and we were immediately welcomed by the friendliness of the owner and all the dining room staff. We were really satisfied with the excellent food without spending a fortune! Absolutely recommended!

Pranzo tra amici ad agosto. Tutto perfetto, cibo squisito e proprietari gentilissimi e cordiali. Tortino patate e funghi buonissimo. Vivamente consigliati i ravioli Donna Giovanna ai funghi. Tagliata di carne di ottima qualità e contorni abbondanti. Gli amari hanno chiuso in bellezza il pranzo.
Prezzi contenuti e cibi tipici e di qualità. Chiamare per prenotare altrimenti si rischia di trovare tutto occupato.
Torneremo presto.

We had a great experience at this restaurant. Happily we ignored the recent negative review since it was clearly nonsense. The menu was local, seasonal and the dishes were full of flavour. The husband and wife owners were very friendly and super accommodating with our dog. The courtyard setting is charming. Service was good. We would definitely return and recommend to others. Really excellent value for money as well!

Abbiamo cenato in questo tipico ristorante di fronte all' Abbazia, con un panorama da sogno. Siamo stati accolto dal proprietario e dalla famiglia che lavora con lui, come se fossimo di casa. Abbiamo mangiato i ravioli ripieni di funghi porcini con funghi, su un letto di caciocavallo, filetto su pietra ollare( MAI MANGIATA UNA CARNE PIÙ TENERA E BUONA) salsiccia ricoperta di caciocavallo e patate mpacchiuse e cicoria. E per finire 3 bottigliette di amaro offerte dalla casa SUPERLATIVI!!!!

We had dinner in this typical restaurant in front of the Abbey, with a dream view. We were welcomed by the owner and the family who works with him, as if we were at home. We ate ravioli filled with porcini mushrooms with mushrooms, on a bed of caciocavallo, fillet on soapstone (I HAVE NEVER EATEN A MORE TENDERED AND GOOD MEAT), sausage covered in caciocavallo and mpacchiuse potatoes and chicory. And finally 3 bottles of bitters offered by the house SUPERLATIVE!!!!
ABSOLUTELY NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!
