Anima sarda (Sardinian Soul) is the restaurant I discovered and is now on my list of favorites. The place is welcoming, and every corner evokes Sardinian tradition in its many facets, but the true Sardinian soul is in the dishes. The main ingredients come from Sardinia and are prepared and cooked according to the most classic recipes. Of course, the touch of chef Carlo, who puts soul and professionalism into all his dishes, is undeniable. I've been going there for a while and have become a fan of fregola with fish, a mix of flavors that explodes in your mouth. Another dish you'll find there that I'm crazy about is culurgiones, a Sardinian delicacy we all know, but not everyone has tried the original! Other treats? The suckling pig and sea urchins. Reservations are required, but I promise it's worth it! Both are delicious! The desserts are also strictly homemade and are all excellent! One dish leads to another, except that they're so generous, you're forced to stop and come back for more! In short, it's a real pleasure to have dinner or lunch (Saturday and Sunday only) at Anima Sarda in their cozy dining room or takeout.
