Nice family-run place where you eat well

I ate one of the best assassins in Bari here. Excellent value. I recommend La Svolta for a great, affordable dinner!

I was in Bari for work. We wanted to try traditional dishes, and some friends recommended this place. Don't be fooled by the unpretentious exterior, as inside is a large, welcoming room. We ate a lot and very well. We ordered hot and cold appetizers, which were very generous and varied (I've attached a photo), and then a first course. I had a generous and delicious portion of spaghetti all'assassina, but I also tried the orecchiette with turnip tops: both excellent. The olio santo (olive oil with chili pepper) is also very good and just the right amount of spiciness. The staff is a very close-knit and friendly family. We really enjoyed our stay; I can't wait to return to Bari to visit again!

Formal and welcoming location, friendly staff, excellent food, especially the first course: a spectacular "assassina" served in a fiery pan...in the end, even the bill was satisfactory...

"Big Luciano" and his friendly family run this restaurant, which is a meeting point for football lovers, especially Bari fans. Luciano is an expert on Brazil and South America. The food is wonderful, prepared by the lovely mamma and papà! Unmissable! Piero, his right-hand man, is pure friendliness!

The pizza is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing! The portions are huge too, you don't have to eat for two days haha

Open for dinner everyday except on on Monday, La Svolta is, to me (and I am Italian) pretty much what makes eating in Italy great! The owner is very friendly, the food is amazing (I strongly suggest you try the Bari specialties like orecchiette alle cime di rapa and riso, patate e cozze) and the prices are right. This is what Italian food is all about - forget fancy restaurants, here is where it's at!

I found the restaurant especially nice for tourists. There aren't too many customers, which is a shame because you can eat so well and quickly in this restaurant. The service is friendly and speaks several languages, which is good for ordering. The food is great and is served super quickly. Therefore, 5 stars, definitely worth a visit.

A very pleasant restaurant near Bari Central Station. The staff is very friendly, and I was immediately given a table on the terrace. The pizzas are delicious, as is the salad with lettuce, tomato, and tuna. The prices are very affordable: €17 for pizza, salad, drink, and bread. Highly recommended!
