A small trattoria between Balduina and the Vatican where we had a very tasty dinner yesterday. Everything was a plus - especially delicious food. Everything was really very good - from the antipasto plate through pasta to the main courses. Additionally, nice English-speaking staff and reasonable prices. The place is open from 8 p.m., the information on Google Maps was incorrect. We were there in February on a working day and we went in without a reservation, but in the high season I think you will have to book a table in advance. I definitely recommend it - if you are looking for traditional Roman dishes such as coda alla vaccinara, artichokes or pasta, you don't have to look any further

Tipica trattoria romana degli anni '30 del secolo scorso, rimasta immutata nel tempo sia per gli ambienti sia per gli arredi. Tovaglia di carta giallognola da pacchi (detta anche "carta paglia" per coloro che hanno buona memoria), tovaglioli di carta, bicchieri classici da osteria, piatti e posate in linea con il resto dell'apparecchiatura, vino della casa servito nei contenitori tipici di una volta (il "quartino", il "mezzo litro", il "litro"). Nel complesso sembra di essere sul set di un film anteguerra. Menù estremamente ridotto e presentato in maniera assai rustica (un foglio di carta inserito in una busta di plastica trasparente) con pietanze esclusivamente della cucina romanesca; da rilevare l'assenza di dessert fatti salvi i cantucci con vin santo. Cibo discreto nella semplicità; servizio "casereccio" fatto dal titolare con evidente noncuranza. Essendo ospite non ho potuto rilevare l'entità del conto ma dai prezzi riportati sul menù mi sono apparsi lievemente alti per la qualità e per l'ambiente. In definitiva una esperienza utile per la memoria storica ma ...... una volta è più che sufficiente.
