The Trattoria, better known as "Candido," is a must-visit for those who want to enjoy authentic Roman cuisine, based on simple yet genuine ingredients. Generous portions, a simple yet warm atmosphere, as a trattoria should be. The owners are friendly and welcoming.

It's a real shame, the welcome was excellent, but charging an extra €8 for three measly little bits of meat on top of pasta – isn't that a bit of a rip-off? 😬

Trattoria La Sagra del Vino da Candido – Rome Among the trattorias recommended by our host, we chose La Sagra del Vino da Candido for its promise of Roman simplicity and authenticity. Our expectations were fully met. From the initial phone call for the reservation, which was friendly and welcoming, to the welcome we received in the dining room. The atmosphere is informal and authentic, the kind where you immediately know you'll be eating "Roman style." The dishes are traditional: flavorful, perhaps too much so, abundant, and well-cooked. We ate Roman food, and we ate well. What made the experience even more enjoyable were the colorful, spontaneous, and entertaining conversations with the waiters. In short: a genuine trattoria, where you can breathe Rome in the flavors and the people.

I had high expectations but it disappointed me. The pasta was basically a dish drenched in oil, artichoke so salty, They don't give you glasses for the wine, they served a man who arrived 15 minutes after us first. The service is generally good but very informal, but that's not a problem.
