I absolutely recommend this place! The ambiance is wonderful in the old town; with a gentle breeze, you'll want to sit there forever. Giovanni makes his own "spritz" with lime and mint; we drank several; it's wonderfully refreshing. Be sure to ask for it; it's not on the menu. We also enjoyed two snack plates with Parma ham and mascarpone spread. With the coffee, we also had a biscuit, typical of the region, with almonds. Very delicious.

With the splendid medieval town hall square of Castell'Arquato still in our minds, we took our seats at the first table at the beginning of an alley leading off from the town hall square. We were immediately met by the kindness of the restaurant's young staff member, who guided and assisted us in choosing the menu.

A fairytale setting, Giovanni is an exceptional host, capable of engaging and exciting you as he showcases his products. There's an air of elegant refinement, blended with professionalism and a pleasure in meeting and piquing the curiosity of customers. Thank you, Giovanni. We had a great time. We had two first courses and two desserts, accompanied by excellent wines recommended by the staff. All the dishes were truly tasty, yet delicate and not at all heavy. Thanks to Giovanni for the excellent service and friendliness. If we ever return to Castell'Arquato, we'll definitely know where to stop!

We went there on August 19th after visiting the Rocca Viscontea. The restaurant is very well-maintained. The menu isn't extensive, but it's well-prepared. The cured meats are delicious. The icing on the cake is Giovanni, the waiter, who I'd describe as more of a storyteller, explaining the various dishes, making your appetite even more intense. We'll definitely be back.

Great lunch at La Rocca, great location, amazing food (tasty but light), and excellent service by Giovanni who has driven us thru the menu and wine. The pasta “Caramelle Piacentine” is a must have!

Il ristorante "La Rocca" si trova nella piazza alla base della rocca Viscontea di Castell'Arquata, nel piacentino. Locale non grande, elegante e accogliente, con tovaglie e tovaglioli di stoffa. I tavoli sono al chiuso con ampi finestroni luminosi e panoramici ma volendo anche in piazza all'aperto. Fa anche da bar. Ha un menù semplice con un paio di antipasti, un paio di primi, un paio di secondi, dolci della casa e vini locali. Qualità della cucina ottima, molto curata anche la presentazione dei piatti che sono della misura giusta. Eravamo in due a pranzo e abbiamo gustato: - selezione di salumi e formaggi locali - "caramelle" piacentine di sottile treccia di pasta ripiena di ricotta e spinaci al burro e salvia - pasta "pisarei e fasò" cioè gnocchetti di farina e pangrattato conditi con fagioli borlotti e pomodoro - dolce sbrisolina con gelato e marmellata di fragola - semifreddo con croccante e marmellate di fragola e amarena Vino di ottima qualità. Durante l'attesa dei piatti e non solo, ci sono stati offerti vari assaggi sia dolci che salati. Tutto buonissimo. Personale cortese, attento, veloce. Molto precisi e scrupolosi nello spiegare i piatti con dettaglio di tutti gli ingredienti utilizzati e relative provenienze, principalmente locali. Particolarmente preciso, gentile e preparato Giovanni, il ragazzo che prende gli ordini e serve ai tavoli. Prezzi medi. Il prezzo medio lo determino sempre sui singoli piatti e non sul conto totale, come fanno molti, spesso influenzato dalla fame del momento, quindi dal numero dei piatti e dei commensali che li condividono. In conclusione, assolutamente consigliato.

In pieno centro si trova questo piccolo paradiso culinario con vista panoramica. Complimenti a Giovanni per il percorso culinario da lui proposto. Tutto eccezionale e di altissima qualità. Grazie per la bellissima esperienza. Lo consiglio ☺️
