A very pleasant surprise!! Excellent food with local dishes, excellent wines and above all excellent service with explanations of typical dishes and extreme competence on everything. We had a great time and spent the right amount considering the high quality of what the restaurant offers. A palate experience that I hope to repeat as soon as possible 10 stars

The "La Rocca" trattoria restaurant is located in the square at the base of the Viscontea fortress of Castell'Arquata, in the Piacenza area. Not a large place, elegant and welcoming, with cloth tablecloths and napkins. The tables are indoors with large bright and panoramic windows but also outdoors if desired. It also serves as a bar. It has a simple menu with a couple of starters, a couple of first courses, a couple of second courses, house desserts and local wines. The quality of the cuisine is excellent, the presentation of the dishes is also very careful and they are the right size. There were two of us for lunch and we enjoyed: - selection of local cured meats and cheeses - Piacenza "candies" of thin braid of pasta filled with ricotta and spinach with butter and sage - "pisarei e fasò" pasta, i.e. flour and breadcrumb dumplings seasoned with borlotti beans and tomato - sweet sbrisolina with ice cream and strawberry jam - semifreddo with brittle and strawberry and black cherry jams Excellent quality wine. While waiting for the dishes and more, we were offered various sweet and savory tastings. All very good. Courteous, attentive, fast staff. Very precise and scrupulous in explaining the dishes with details of all the ingredients used and their origins, mainly local. Giovanni, the boy who takes orders and serves at the tables, is particularly precise, kind and knowledgeable. Average prices. I always determine the average price on the individual dishes and not on the total bill, as many do, often influenced by the hunger of the moment, therefore by the number of dishes and diners sharing them. In conclusion, absolutely recommended.

I stopped in this restaurant on a Saturday to have lunch (without having booked) after a motorbike ride... I was kindly welcomed by the owner and made to sit in the first room (in front of the bar counter). We were served by a young waiter who was very courteous and professional in describing the dishes. We ordered a local appetizer ("cascine e casali") and two first courses ("pisarei e fasò" and another whose name I don't remember)... all very good and in the right quantity... a homemade dessert (excellent). All very pleasant with prices in line with restaurants in the area. Advised.

Highly recommended! There were six of us and we booked at this place: cold cuts, ricotta and spinach sweets, gnocchi, smoked shoulder and desserts... all delicious and generous portions. Special thanks to Giovanni, impeccable in his explanations and truly courteous. Prices in line with the high quality of the dishes. Congratulations, keep it up! We will be back

Lunch on a rainy Saturday in March. Excellent service, as was the environment and the cuisine. Few dishes on the menu but well-prepared, synonymous with a cuisine that is “not express” but that requires its fair amount of time in preparing the dishes. In particular, the cooked shoulder (slightly smoked) was very good… Typical dishes of the area with quality raw materials, cellar with excellent local wines. Adequate price. Highly recommended

Posto eccezionale,tipo di cucina locale. Tutto ottimo dal cibo al servizio, personale accogliente, simpaticissimo il cameriere Giovanni. Antipasti affettati e antipasti caldi, primi pisarei e tortellini eccezionali,vino del posto, da provare assolutamente il dolce al torroncino, tutto da leccarsi le dita. Qualità prezzo più che onesti. Dovessi tornare in quelle zone mi fermerei sicuramente di nuovo.
