The location is definitely exceptional, the wine list is great and the wines are well-tempered and reasonably priced. The waiter was friendly, but not friendly enough to provide excellent service; he seemed stressed when explaining the menu. The menu seemed small to me, lacking daily specials, and the seasoning wasn't anything special, especially the vegetables, which were bland. I had higher expectations.

Unfortunately, the staff was EXTREMELY unfriendly when we said we didn't want a set meal, but just wanted coffee and cake! We were then asked to leave the restaurant and go to the terrace, where we had to pay an additional €21 (!) "service charge" - for whatever reason...
So, better enjoy the panorama somewhere else with friendly staff!

If you are in Baveno this should be your first choice for sure. Without a doubt the best restaurant I've been to in Italy. Delicious food, excellent service and very nice ambience. Also, you can trust the chef's recommendations 100%.

We were a bit torn about our visit. It was a nice location, but a bit chilly, so we put our jackets back on. The service was friendly, but they spoke poor English and no German. They didn't pour water or top up our wine. The food was good, but the prices were also very reasonable. For example, the chicken came with a few small potatoes, and that was it. Two meatballs with thin carrot strips and a dollop of mashed potato – €24. Everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented, the bread was delicious and still warm, and we enjoyed the (only by the glass) red wine.

We were invited to lunch for an anniversary.
The atmosphere was very "simple," but in a positive way. Not your typical restaurant; there were plenty of outdoor seats overlooking the lake, while we ate inside in a space where the large windows didn't obscure the view.
The menu wasn't à la carte, as we were a group; otherwise, à la carte options were available.
Appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert.
Everything was excellent, even the bread.
Adequate portions.
Extensive wine cellar.
Highly recommended.
