One of the true bastions of traditional Milanese cuisine, the historic Antica Osteria la Rampina restaurant in San Giuliano Milanese dates back to 1500 and is located in an ancient country house, surrounded by greenery.
The seriousness of the service is immediately striking, efficient and non-intrusive.
From the menu, which combines the tradition of chef Lino Gagliardi with some new elements brought by his son Luca, we chose a cardoon flan with asiago fondue and bagna cauda, boiled meat ravioli with 24-month Grana cheese cream and green bath and l The unmissable risotto with ossobuco, considered by many to be the best ever. The desserts are a chocolate cake and a perfect tiramisu.
As for the wines, we "caught" a Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella by Sandro Fay and, to accompany the desserts, a Verduzzo and the famous Passito di Pantelleria Ben Ryé.
I refer you to the review which you can find on the site with a detailed description of the dishes and wines, all of the highest level. But let me say a few words about risotto. Now I haven't tasted all the risottos in Milan, but I certainly have eaten some excellent ones. Well this one beats them all! Impeccable, masterful rice cooking. Ossobuco that melts in your mouth and is divinely spiced, with a citrus presence from the gremolada that makes it truly intriguing and offsets the succulence. What a dish, friends!
The chat with chef Lino in front of the fireplace was priceless! We felt at home. Thank you!
