La Palette In Capri

The food was unbelievable and the service was the best I have had in all of Europe for my 20 day trip. Will definitely be returning.

A beautiful little restaurant in a prime location with views of the sea and mountains. Excellent service. The food, especially the fresh fish, is of exceptionally high quality. The accompanying regional wines are superb.

The location is truly beautiful; we had the tasting menu. It was very good; if I had to say it left a lasting impression on me, I'd say no. But I definitely recommend trying it because you won't be eating anything "ordinary." The ingredients were incredibly fresh. The staff were excellent, very polite and kind.

Capri town is full of restaurants. They line the piazza, they're all expensive, and they're all (at least) decent. But if your tired feet can find the strength to walk five minutes BEYOND the piazza, you'll find something very special. Firstly, unlike the town square, it's QUIET. The decor is elegant, the service is attentive, and the ocean views are better than anything the piazza can offer. But you're not paying for views, you're paying for excellent food. First, the fritturina di pescato were perfectly crispy without being greasy, with excellent flavor, not even a whiff of "fishiness" to them, an excellent antipasti. For primi, the gnochetti was delicious, but my favorite was the spaghettoni with shrimps. Be aware, the shrimps are diced up. So, if you have any visual/texture issues with the sight of whole shellfish in your food (like I sometimes do), be assured it won't present a problem. Additionally, the tiny pieces of shrimp blend with the pasta much better than whole shrimps would. The sword fish secondi was fresh, mild, and flawless. The Caprese torte for dessert was rich without being heavy. But please MAKE SURE you try their mela annurca digestif after dessert. So delicious, my husband and I couldn't stop marveling at it to each other. I was actually saddened to learn they make it in-house, since it means I can't buy a bottle to take home. So, please muster up the strength to walk five more minutes for dinner, to enjoy this true hidden gem. We will DEFINITELY be returning here.
