La Nuova Pasticceria In Siena

A few steps from Piazza del Campo is a pastry shop that we discovered many years ago, recommended by locals. And never has advice been more well placed... ricciarelli are simply unattainable! Obviously the other typical Sienese desserts are also very good. Every time we pass through Siena we don't leave without first stocking up on some delicacies.

Piccolo locale collocato vicino a piazza del Campo che propone prodotti artigianali tipici e non. Noi abbiamo assaggiato la torta della nonna con una crema pasticcera squisita ricoperta di mandorle buonissime. Personale cortese, servizio abbastanza rapido e prezzi nella norma. Da accompagnare ai dolci utile offrire ai clienti anche delle bevande.

This is THE place to buy panforte, the delicious Tuscan specialty with fruit and nuts. Don't be lured by the beautiful wrappers on the factory-made panforte sold in all the souvenir stores. These folks make everything themselves, and you can taste the difference. Personally, I like the panforte pepato - heavy on the spices with a little black pepper for punch. BTW I found La Nuova Pasticceria by asking the woman in a souvenir store on the piazza. She said it's where her whole family shops.

Este es EL lugar para comprar panforte, la deliciosa especialidad toscana con fruta y frutos secos. No te dejes atraer por los envoltorios bellamente impresos en la fábrica - panforte hecho a mano que se vende en todas las tiendas de recuerdos. Estas personas hacen todo por sí mismas, y puedes saborear la diferencia. Personalmente, me gusta el panforte pepato - pesado en las especias con un poco de pimienta negra para el ponche.
