La Masseria In Roma

We organized our wedding reception here on September 12th. We first did three tests, two at dinner (outside in summer and inside in winter) and one at lunch. All three times we ate wonderfully and I don't think it was preferential treatment because the other customers ordered some things like ours, and it was all delicious. We were mainly interested in Roman cuisine, but their reinterpretations were also impeccable. In particular we ate artichokes alla giudia (present only when they are in season), beans with pork rinds, tripe, ravioli made with burrata, courgette flowers and bacon, cacio e pepe, meat, chicory and potatoes oven. However their menu changes from time to time, they have a QR Code which they update regularly. We therefore oriented the menu for the wedding reception on Roman cuisine: very abundant and delicious appetizers (for example, I had specifically asked for porchetta and they had it sent hot the same day), two "mezzi" first courses which were also very abundant , a second course of meat with a side dish of baked potatoes (I also asked that there be dishes of chicory on all the tables to share). They have a trusted pastry shop for the wedding cake: it was more beautiful than good, but the price was correct. Let me explain better, to my taste it lacked cream inside and fruit (I had asked for a chocolate and raspberry cake). I pointed this out and I'm sure they will be more attentive at the next experience. Oh, I forgot! We had vegetarian, celiac and lactose intolerant guests and they were all satisfied (I tasted their parmigiana because I have a sweet tooth and it was delicious!). More children's menus, clearly. Location... what can I say: for me it's too beautiful! A farmhouse in the countryside inside Rome, with a beautiful garden which is truly a plus if the weather is nice. Clean and well-maintained internal rooms. For the wedding. since it was raining, they reserved the last room facing the garden for us so we had the option of keeping it open or closed. We were about sixty people, we had a great time: not cramped, but not lost in huge rooms (which makes me sad). We had space to wander between the tables and a space in the center where we could dance and sing... oh yes! There was even music! We made the choice to pay the two professionals (Romano and Roberta Valle) who offered us separately so we could manage the pace. First of all, it must be said that they are very good, but then they were super helpful (at one moment we monopolized the microphone to make a speech) in choosing the music and above all in managing the volume. However, Romina took care of setting up the room directly, with a little extra contribution I had a lot less to worry about! In short, we stayed between 7pm and 2am! The success of parties is made by people, and together with our guests, thanks to Romina and her staff, I couldn't imagine a better wedding! So if I can give one last piece of advice: if, in addition to just going for dinner (which I still recommend), you want to organize an event, talk about it clearly with Romina and you will be satisfied.

Having tested the abundant and local menu several times, we chose this restaurant to organize our Franco-Italian wedding dinner: it was perfect. Part of the restaurant privatized (without blocking the reception of other customers), organization and decoration of the room as expected, live and participatory music, and the content of the "Roman-style" plates as requested (and expected by all guests). French), taking into account "special requests". Thanks to Romina for organizing everything with enthusiasm. I recommend for a simple meal as well as for a group or party meal.

So it's not the first time I've been there and honestly I like it. It has large spaces, the food is good and honestly the service is average. BUT ONE QUESTION.... why on a Saturday evening at 11.30pm do you start telling customers that they have to leave and that you are closing???? Honestly, I find it in very poor taste. I came on Saturday evening and twice it was pointed out to me that the place was closing....

Romina and her staff, the location, the music, the food. It is always a pleasure to spend an evening at the Masseria. Then in the summer with that wonderful garden it is the best
