I've read the two recent negative reviews about Coq Rouge with growing surprise. The staff is so friendly and helpful in everything that I can't believe their reviews. Moreover, the food is fantastic, and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. I have nothing but praise! Plus, there's no time limit: we had plenty of time to enjoy this gem in Valtournenche!

We came for dinner at the beginning of the season.
The restaurant was elegant and meticulously maintained, with a wood-burning stove inside.
The service was very quick, and the staff were very kind and professional.
Overall, the food was excellent. Two small, not insignificant flaws were: the consistency of the braised beef, which was a bit too stiff and not as tender as it should have been; and the warm-hearted chocolate cake, which unfortunately didn't have a warm center at all, but rather resembled a plum cake.
I'm so particular about the quality the restaurant aspires to.
The prices are moderately high.
A positive review, of course!
