This place is truly a great find. I will definitely go back.

We were passing through Salerno and wanted an authentic evening made of typical food. At the Locanda di Apicio we found authenticity, typical delights and unexpected kindness. The dishes were plentiful and delicious. We chose, on the advice of the fantastic Lisa, the Locanda's starter, paccheri with monkfish with clams and cherry tomatoes, fusilli with shellfish and seafood. We ended on a high note with some wonderful desserts, ricotta and pear cake, tiramisu and seven-veil cake. Thanks to Franco, the owner who has been running the Locanda for countless years with skill and love for what he does, making his guests feel at home. Thanks to Carmela, who with her elegance gives calm to the place. Thanks to Lisa for being a great advisor and getting all our tastes right. We also mention Dario, the young waiter who served the tables politely and punctually. We recommend anyone passing through Salerno to delight in a dinner in this welcoming and kind place. Friends with refined palates had already pointed out this restaurant to me for some time as a dispenser of good and genuine flavours, and for those who, like me, eat to enjoy it is always a new curiosity to evaluate its quality. I found a rustic but tastefully furnished place, excellent cleanliness and great competence. It is immediately clear that those who manage have extensive experience in feeding the hungry. The table service is superb, made up of courtesy and competence. The food, mainly based on fish offerings, is varied and uses the freshest raw materials, cooked with art but without frills. The warm, crusty bread is homemade. Personally I enjoyed the starter. The house wine does not disappoint at all....... and in the end the purse does not hurt.
