La Locanda del Santo Bevitore In Novi ligure

Sunday lunch in this elegant restaurant which presents itself very well and gives great expectations. The service is friendly, but very slow and sometimes distracted. The menus were brought to us only 25 minutes after our arrival, the order taken another 15 minutes later. Between one meal and another it is difficult to intercept a waiter, lunch lasts hours. The food is good, but overly priced due to its simplicity and quantity, especially for the vegetarian options and desserts. The meat was normal. Excellent wine. Excellent bread. I wouldn't go back, it's nothing special compared to other places I've tried with better quality-price and more attentive service. 6 people, 2 bottles of white wine approximately 35 euros, 3 bottles of water, 1 appetizer, 6 first courses, 5 second courses, 5 desserts, 5 coffees 369.50 euros

Lunch in a starred restaurant, spectacular open cellar with fine wines

A chance discovery. I was in Piedmont for a wine tasting at a farmhouse, and not being able to have lunch in the tasting location, as there was no room, I started looking for a restaurant, and by chance I booked at the Locanda del Santo bevitore. Once here, I chose the chef's "freehand" menu. Never was a more appropriate choice. I'll start with the restaurant manager: Davide is a truly professional, courteous and knowledgeable person in the preparation of dishes and wines. Regarding the cuisine, the "free hand" of chef Thomas Papa will be unforgettable. With each course, the taste buds could distinguish each ingredient, which is why I will be forced to return. Finally, I must also compliment the manager, who is very knowledgeable about the wines in the cellar, who passionately showed me and told me about some of the wineries in the area. If you don't just want to eat, but if you are also looking for a unique experience, this is the right place if you are in the area... or even not

I had lunch at the Ristornate del Santo Bevitore at the beginning of November 2024. Excellent welcome from the staff. Refined environment, walls of wine bottles, also a beautiful view. Dishes well served and explained. The price in line with the first choice ingredients and recipes. To be returned and recommended. Parking nearby and train station within walking distance.

Good restaurant, excellent dishes, quality cellar. Very slow service. Not high quality truffle...not very fragrant. Expensive price!!!!
