La Locanda del Santo Bevitore In Novi ligure

Having found myself by chance in Novi Ligure, I opt for this restaurant for lunch. Sufficiently refined cuisine, but without notes of excessive enthusiasm. The service was courteous, although slow and sometimes distracted, despite the place being semi-deserted. Other commercial choices are questionable. The lack of a tablecloth or runner, regardless of cleanliness, remains a "gamble" of elegance. Including the attempt at gourmet cuisine, the portions are truly embarrassing. There is little wine available. I chose to taste a champagne whose quality I don't question, but the quantity is at the limit of tasting. The choice of fruit "minestrone" presented in very small pieces of fruit in absolutely small quantities was disappointing. Such a fruit dish seasoned, at the time, with a pour of violet water that I would have gladly avoided! Personally I found it cloying. (Maybe asking, if desired, would be a gesture of courtesy.) And we arrive at the coffee, accompanied by some biscuits (3) "offered". Forgive me, but €4.00 a coffee??? It probably summarizes, simply, what has been described above.

What a great place to dine. Alice took great care of us and she gave us the best suggestions for drinks and food ❤️ Their wine collection is impressive (and massive). The atmosphere is super relaxing.

The proposed menu is very good. The first courses are good, the second course offers fish and meat dishes, cooked very well. The cellar is well stocked and the desserts are delicious. Very friendly and professional staff..... I RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT VERY HIGHLY

I had the pleasure of returning today for lunch with friends. Spring menu with high quality products. The risotto with pepper, potatoes and mussels was very delicate, decorated with a cheese foam. Exceptional. All delicious, excellent wines and original desserts. The skill of the esteemed chef Thomas Papa is always a pleasant experience. I don't want to spoil but the frozen lemon slice with coffee powder etc etc. Worth 3 stars alone. Congratulations, keep it up

Formal environment. Good dishes but the quantity could be improved. Roast beef good but I didn't like it much. Overall good dinner I'll be back for the first ones

Grande Corona is back with chef Thomas Papa and his local cuisine, calibrated, tasty, never heavy or cloying! The cuttlefish is wonderful, the parmesan tortelli are delicious, the focaccia and salted butter are sublime and what can we say about the chocolate sphere... Amazing..... Truly top notch place, truly exceptional dishes, respectful of the great Piedmontese tradition, fantastic. The service was excellent, always present but in a polite and not at all intrusive manner, I really liked the description of the dishes, complete but not excessively long, I was pleased to understand and know what I was eating. It met all the expectations of a high-end venue. Price not popular but more than correct for such a place. I think I'll be back.
