Dinner with some colleagues. We ordered 3 kg of straccetti (regular and spicy) and then a huge array of bombette (regular, spicy, provola and radicchio, with sun-dried tomatoes). Everything was served in record time, accompanied by the house wine (a lovely still wine). The service and quality of the meat were excellent. A valid option in the university area of ​​Lecce.

We stopped here for dinner and it was an excellent choice. The grill was impeccable, well-cooked and flavorful, and the appetizers, especially the potatoes, were really good too. We were very satisfied: this place is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing food experience, low budget and great taste

After enjoying amazing seafood and pasta every day in Puglia, the meat we had here was fantastic! The price-to-quality ratio was excellent, and you could choose your own cuts, which were served quickly. The potatoes were delicious. Most of the guests were locals, so it felt like a genuine experience away from tourist traps. We had a reservation and, as a party of two, were seated at a table in the middle of the outdoor area, while the other parties of two who reserved at the same time were at four-person tables by the wall. One downside was that people constantly passing by and waiting nearby made our table feel a bit exposed, which wasn’t ideal. Despite that, the lively street atmosphere and the delicious food made it a truly memorable experience.

Simple place, divinely cooked meat, fair prices. For a casual evening with family and/or friends, highly recommended!

La Locanda Del Macellaio in Lecce lives up to its reputation. As regulars at the Roman location, we can only give the Lecce location a 10 out of 10. An incredible experience: meat selected at the counter, as per the tradition of Apulian grill restaurants, and low prices considering the quality and quantity of meat ordered. In short, a great confirmation, even in 2025, where everything seems to be more expensive and lower quality than in the past. That doesn't happen here. The meat melts in your mouth: the bombette are delicious, and the different types are simply breathtaking (literally after devouring a lot of them). We also ordered a slice of Black Angus entrecote, cooked rare, with arugula, cherry tomatoes, and Parmesan cheese: AMAZING. The meat was incredibly tender, without any tendons, not frayed, but melted like butter (unfortunately, this quality isn't available in Rome). In short, an absolute confirmation, a top rating.

The only flaw that keeps me from giving it 5 stars is that they brought everything together. So, choosing four bombette, strips, a burger, a slice of beef, and a baked potato, you don't know where to start, and the rest gets cold. It's a shame! Reservations are recommended, it's a very popular place. We ate well at reasonable prices, obviously depending on what you order, but we ate plenty... spending about €20 per person. The bombette flavors are many and delicious, but our favorites were the grilled strips, amazing and light! Highly recommended.
