A wonderful place! The food is excellent, I come back to eat here every time I go to Macugnaga. The Locanda never disappoints, everything is always delicious, generous portions and the prices are right. Highly recommended.

We came on holiday to Macugnaga to go hiking and found a place to return to every evening to try every dish. Nothing short of perfect and refined food, excellent service. We will definitely be back. A special thank you to the girl who waited on the tables and recommended cakes and trips to us at the same time. Don't miss the restaurants in Staffa and go to Pecetto! Stephen

A revelation. The first time in Macugnaga which also hit us in the wounds of the recent flood. We liked the inn for its location and for the courtesy of Alice, Marco, her mother and the staff. The room with mezzanine proved to be clean, quiet and corresponding to our needs. We will return for a longer stay.

Davvero una bella sorpresa. Non sono abituato a mangiare bene nelle località di villeggiatura ma La Locanda è sicuramente un'eccezione alla regola. Magari un pò caro, ma piatti davvero ben preparati. Personale gentilissimo :)

05/08/2024: I went the other day to take a walk in the beautiful Macugnaga, and then with the cable car I stopped to eat at the Rifugio Lago Smeraldo, being at more than 2800 meters the place is definitely worth a relaxing break. I ate outside, on the terrace with an amazing view. I ate very very well. There are many good things on the menu, I ate an excellent polenta with wild boar then I also tasted the braised meat, Macugnaghese pasta, and a fabulous cocotte of melted cheese with onions. There are also great desserts, yours made by them. I highly recommend a refreshing passage.

02/11/2024: Very tasty food. Mussels...spaghetti ala ragu...aldente. The panna cotta with forest fruits was great We felt very comfortable...Thank you very much. Reservations recommended. Ambience...Italian...maybe not super chic...but authentic
