Penne Arrabiata was so-so BUT the steak and the tortellini soup were very good. Also the service was tops!! Dont forget to order Tiramisu!

Angelo is a great host! Amazing food inspired by the south of Italy. Warm reception, great choice and delicious food. Great spot for tourists.

We stayed at the hotel Medici around the corner from La Lampada. Thankfully we were recommended by Fabio at our hotel to visit the restaurant. It was so great we visited twice. During our 5 days in Rome we have witnessed masters of their craft; Rafaelle, Michaelangelo, Davinci. It is safe to say that our host Angelo is as much a master of his craft. Such a great personality and very charming. It was such a pleasure to meet him.
The food was absolutely amazing. The amatriciana was some of the best pasta I’ve eaten during the trip. Also the grilled sea bass and the swordfish were lovely too, prepared tableside by Angelo.
Grazie mille Angelo, cheers mate!

Trattoria run by Giacomo (the owner) and his nephew.
Giacomo is a true host, able to recommend the best dishes and the freshest ingredients. The cuisine is excellent, typically Roman, but with a special focus on fish (always fresh). I highly recommend this restaurant for both the quality of the food and the kindness and friendliness of the staff. The prices are truly fair, and the quality/price ratio is excellent.

We went there because it was close to where we were staying and it was recommended by the owner of the place. We ordered meat and fish. I was satisfied with the meat — it was quite good. However, the salmon I ordered for my young daughter had a bone in it, which unfortunately got stuck in her throat and caused her to vomit. Additionally, despite asking the waiter for napkins twice, he never brought them.

This was our last night in Rome. Angelo was our waiter. He was great, engaging and very helpful. We had a leisurely discussion about my Italian heritage ( even though I am American ). The food was great. All the pastas were homemade. Somehow Lemon Cello ended up at our table. I make my own at home and was pleased to find out that the method I use at home is almost identical to what they do in Rome. Overall a great night for my family. If you are in Rome stop by and be sure to ask for Angelo.

Siamo stati a maggio...ci siamo salutati quasi per caso. Cucina eccellente...la miglior carbonara del nostro soggiorno q Roma. Personale assolutamente disponibile e simpatico...sia il padrone di casa che il cameriere sposato con la sarda. Qualità prezzo eccellente...trippa buonissima a detta di mio marito. Otroligt god pasta, så mycket smaker och perfekt tillagad!
