La Grotta In Pisa

I discovered this restaurant as a university student, and since then I've been going there every time I return to Pisa. Over time, it has evolved from a student bar to a more refined restaurant, but it still retains its charm. The food has evolved, but it's still excellent and always rooted in local cuisine. I've been coming back for years, and it never disappoints. Excellent service. Excellent location in the heart of the historic center.

A magnificent experience, from the food to the service. A charming place. The dishes were very good and unique, with flavors that both I and my family enjoyed. The service was wonderful, the waiter was kind and helpful, and, above all, always smiling—a quality I really appreciate for making the entire experience more enjoyable. Prices were in line with the city and reasonable for the delicacies we ate. I will definitely be back.

Average prices, good food, try and book a reservation otherwise might not get a seat. Appeared to be mostly local based on the languages spoken.

On the recommendation of the hotel I was staying at, a scenic spot with good food. But let's take it in order. 🏢 Location 8/10 A bit small, but particularly intimate. The themed ceiling is beautiful, even if artificial, according to them, it was even a movie set. The table setting is modern, with stiff placemats and scenic plates. 🍝 Menu 9/10 Exquisite platters with superb cheeses, albeit not very varied. I had pacchero pasta in a Chianti reduction with grapes, figs, and crispy prosciutto... simply an explosion of flavors! The house wine was also excellent, a good Sangiovese. The dishes served by others also received compliments. 👩‍🍳 Service 8/10 The wait times were generally normal, but even though we all ordered different dishes, they were served practically at the same time. I'd also like to point out that someone at the next table had forgotten their phone, and they immediately scrambled to find it; when they couldn't find it, they left it with them at the counter. 📃 Bill 7/10 For a shared appetizer, a main course, two house wines, and a dessert, we spent an average of €35 per person. Money well spent, in my opinion. I'll be back, and I'll definitely consider it for future stays in this city, especially considering it's located in the historic center.

Simple, local, very good and not touristy! You have to book!

We visited this restaurant for a graduation and were pleasantly surprised. The setting is truly evocative, like being in a cave, with an intimate and unique atmosphere that makes the experience unique. The quality of the food is excellent: carefully prepared, beautifully presented, and rich in flavor. This place is definitely worth discovering and we highly recommend it.

A gem we discovered in Pisa, from the hospitality of the staff to the cuisine, to the beauty of the place itself. Small, quaint, and quiet, truly the best place to stop for an excellent dinner. The food is all perfect, from the platter, not to mention the shrimp and yellow cherry tomato gnocchi—I've never had such a good meal. The staff are fantastic, a huge thank you to Luca and Simona for their kindness, friendliness, and professionalism. They make the place even more beautiful. Thanks also to the entire kitchen team, who you can feel put so much passion into the dishes they prepare. It was truly a fantastic experience from the moment we arrived to the moment we left.
