La Gratella In Perugia

Historic place... prices a little high though..

My girlfriend and I were looking for a restaurant to have dinner in Perugia during the Bridge of the Dead, but all were full. The very nice owner of a souvenir shop then recommended this restaurant to us, so we decided to try it. The place is very nice, even if rather "simple" (it is not the classic place that can be found in Perugia with bricks, arches and the like); the owner was really kind and friendly and, even though he was alone in the room that evening, he tried not to make us wait too long. The food was delicious (the bruschetta is absolutely recommended, especially the tomato one) and the prices were absolutely honest. Very happy to have followed the advice of our shopkeeper friend!

It's true that appearances can be deceiving, because the "location" doesn't inspire the customer to enter but to try is to believe... you can eat very well with impeccably gallant service. An amazing butcher's pen. Don't have any hesitations, trust me.

Typical trattoria with simple but quality cuisine. At modest prices. The owner is kind and friendly. I will definitely go back

Ho trovato per caso questa trattoria,all'inizio ero titubante ad entrare,mi sono affacciato dentro per vedere se c'erano clienti,ho visto che era quasi pieno e sono entrato.Non mi sono affatto pentito per la scelta.Cucina vecchia maniera,casareccia e di qualità,è stato come mangiare a casa.Proprietari cortesi,prezzi onesti,la metà di altri ristoranti di Perugia.Vista la qualita ed i prezzi ci ritornerò in questa settimana.

Ate here on two consecutive evenings. Surprisingly quiet especially on Friday night. The service was efficient, food good, house red wine delicious and reasonable (8 euros a litre) We particularly enjoyed the saltinbocca. With 2 secondi and 2 contorni plus wine and coffee the bill was 56.50. With 1 shared antipasti, 2 primi plus wine and water the bill came to 44.40. Recommended.
