Excellent cold cuts, as well as first and second courses, not suitable for vegetarians. Friendly service, reasonable prices, and a cool outdoor garden.

This is a true hidden gem! Food was delicious. It is impressive the amount of food they make by their own (several types of pasta, slow cooked meat, desserts, bread, liquors, etc… You can see and feel the amount of effort and dedication that goes into their offerings.

La Gnoccata is a restaurant just outside Trento, located in Cognola, next to the Orrido di Ponte Alto, a canyon carved out by the Fersina River.
It was also a renowned location in the past because during the summer, the cool breeze generated by the river below rises from the terrace. A giant photo from the past commemorates this.
It's a restaurant that brings Emilian cuisine to the table.
We visited in the warmer months and dined outdoors in the large area equipped with tables, chairs, and umbrellas, as well as structures designed to protect us from the sun.
The menu opens with a selection of charcuterie boards of various kinds to choose from, accompanied by gnocco fritto, warm tigelle, and homemade giardiniera. The charcuterie board is the most delicious appetizer par excellence, and they offer several options with a variety of charcuterie and sliced meats to suit your taste.
They also offer a selection of first courses, including the ever-present tagliatelle, cappelletti, tortellini, and gnocchi.
For the second course, they also offer a variety of options for all tastes. Beef, rabbit, meatballs, and more.
Obviously, the menu may vary slightly depending on the season.
Finally, why not round off the meal with a homemade dessert?
We had the classic zuppa inglese and the chocolate mousse with rum-infused apricots. The desserts were delicious, not cloying.
Excellent dinner, reasonable prices, and a simply but pleasantly furnished terrace.
The staff is friendly and helpful.
The clientele is diverse, as the restaurant can accommodate couples, families, or groups of friends.
Children have plenty of outdoor space to roam without hindering the service.
Access to the outdoor terrace and the nearby parking lot are easy for strollers and wheelchairs.
Unfortunately, the parking lot next to the restaurant is small, but just a few steps away is the parking lot for the Cognola sports field.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Gnoccata restaurant in Trento, and I must say it was a positive experience. This restaurant offers a rich selection of traditional Emilian and Romagna dishes, with particular attention to the quality of the ingredients.
The tigelle and gnocco fritto were exceptional! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, accompanied by excellent cured meats.
In addition to the delicious food, the restaurant has a beautiful garden that contributes to a serene and welcoming atmosphere.
Another positive note was the hospitality of the kind and smiling staff, a rare thing these days. They made our visit even more enjoyable with their helpfulness.
La Gnoccata is a must-try for anyone who wants to enjoy traditional Emilian and Romagna dishes. Bravo!

We had a quick lunch after visiting the Ponte Alto Gorge, with two fresh pasta dishes (passatelli and tagliatelle) that were truly excellent. Besides the food, the location is also perfect for a relaxing outdoor lunch.

The mixed cured meats appetizer was amazing: very fresh and flavorful. The various platters feature a variety of cured meats, including salami. The cheeses are excellent, and you can pair them with mustard. They have many quality wines to pair with the food. One thing you absolutely must try is the ossobuco with mashed potatoes and vegetables. It's truly out of this world. The meat melts in your mouth and tastes divine, you can taste it's fresh, the mashed potatoes are thick and flavorful, and the herbs are perfectly spiced and spicy. A feast of flavors!! Delicious and unique desserts for all tastes! The place has a themed decor. If you're in Trento, you can't miss this gem, and you absolutely have to eat here. It's a bit far from the center, but with a little planning, it can be combined with a visit to the nearby Orrido di Ponte Alto. Highly recommended!!!

The menu, service, and venue are all excellent, especially the tripe, if you like it.
On nice days, there's also a spacious outdoor area overlooking the Ponte Alto Ravine, but reservations are recommended.
