A Hidden Gem! Do not let the exterior sway you. La Fraschetta Romanesca is a must visit! While visiting Rome we were welcomed in and made to feel right at home despite not knowing a reservation was recommended and not speaking Italian. We were led downstairs to a full dining room with inviting architectural charm and a pleasant atmosphere. On the night we were there, it seemed most of the guests were locals as we mainly heard Italian spoken around our table. The service was top-notch and it was easy to communicate in English. We ordered the salad with sliced chicken and the oxtail dishes, pics attached. They were both superb! One of the best meals we had during our entire stay in Rome!

Recommended by friends, it turned out to be an excellent choice. We opted for a table inside because the road is undergoing construction. Gigi provided excellent service, and he made recommendations and took care of us. The porchetta was excellent, melt-in-the-mouth; the fresh pasta with truffle, guanciale, and pecorino cheese was interesting. The meatballs in tomato sauce were good, but not excellent. The Satrico white wine was excellent. Thanks for the evening.

One of the best pasta places we’ve tried in Rome! The carbonara was absolutely delicious – perfectly creamy without being heavy, and the guanciale was super flavorful. The oxtail (coda alla vaccinara) was also amazing, tender and full of rich flavor. We also tried a tomato-based pasta, and it was just as good – simple but bursting with taste. The side dishes were also excellent, especially the green vegetables – very fresh and cooked just right. Special thanks to the lady at the front – her warm smile and friendly attitude made the experience even better. Service was attentive and welcoming. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Roman food with a warm vibe.

Osteria a due passi da Castel Sant’Angelo che offre piatti tipici, fatti bene e gustosi. Non è assolutamente un’osteria “turistica” e i prezzi sono ottimi.

Tornati dopo qualche anno, abbiamo ritrovato la stessa cortesia e i buoni sapori della cucina di questa fraschetta. Il sugo all' arrabbiata è strepitoso!

22/07/2025: Had lunch with my husband before leaving Rome, we tried pasta everywhere but this was the worst, I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want to enjoy tasty food.
