A wonderful experience in a refined setting with an old-world feel. The staff is friendly and helpful. We ate a *chianca* with an excellent dough and top-quality ingredients, followed by bread meatballs with tomato sauce and baked potatoes. Everything was really good. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I discovered this little place by chance... we had a great time... the service was pretty fast. The location is very traditional, and the arrival of the folk group during dinner was very nice... I recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the usual tourist spots.

Finding a good place to eat in mid January in Matera is difficult, but Taverna La Focagna did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was incredible. I feel so privileged to have visited here.

A rustic and very characteristic restaurant, with excellent service and extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
For appetizers, we chose the cruschi peppers, truly delicious, accompanied by a magnificent mixed platter of cured meats and cheeses.
Among the first courses, the orecchiette with turnip greens, fried breadcrumbs, and crusco peppers were a real surprise: spectacular in every way. The scialatelli alla focaccia were also excellent, well-balanced and flavorful.
For the second course, the oven-baked smoked scamorza cheese was tasty and perfectly cooked.
Overall, an excellent culinary experience, with a truly fair quality-price ratio. Highly recommended.
