Trattoria in Bergamo Alta, on the road leading to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. A very pleasant atmosphere, especially the dining room, probably converted from an old cellar/pantry located below street level and entirely made of stone. The casoncelli bergamaschi are delicious... and among the main courses, both the rabbit bergamasca-style and the braised beef were good, both accompanied by excellent polenta. I saw the platter of mixed cured meats being passed around and it made a good impression (next time...). The service was also good... fast and attentive, despite the restaurant being packed on a Sunday.
Overall, I would recommend it.

I visited this typical Bergamo restaurant and was truly satisfied! The pizzoccheri were truly tasty, just like homemade. The rabbit with polenta was tender and full of flavor, a traditional dish that never disappoints. The atmosphere is welcoming and familiar, and Ile's hospitality, always smiling and friendly, made the lunch even more enjoyable. An authentic experience, highly recommended for those who love good food and a warm atmosphere.

We went to this restaurant for lunch on Sunday. We had a truly delicious meal. The traditional dishes were well-executed and the value for money was excellent, considering we were in the historic center, literally steps from the beautiful old square. The waitresses were very kind, attentive, and professional. Kudos to all the staff.

The food was average; we're still talking about fresh pasta with a hectoliter of butter and sage. The staff was completely out of sorts, with insane waits and waitresses wandering around clearing unused tables with orders from those waiting in their pockets. They all seemed like complete idiots to me, unprofessional (and there were probably no more than 50 people seated). High prices for simple dishes that anyone could easily make at home.

As expected great polenta and the rabbit was very tender and tasty. Good lunch menu. Fast and efficient service. Just stay away from the Tiramisu, definitely not worth the calories. For 1 Euro more, you can have a wonderful Tiramisu from the pastry shop just a few doors down
