Very fresh, high quality fish, truly excellent, excellent service

I ate well. The octopus in a pot was good, but the octopus meatballs weren't so great. Desserts, especially the cheesecake! 10 out of 10! The place is beautiful and the service is excellent!

On Friday, February 27, 2026, I decided to dine at this restaurant located in the historic center of Nardò. There were four of us. As soon as we'd chosen our "battle stations," we got down to business. We ordered three appetizers, three first courses, and a couple of desserts to round things off. What can I say? This restaurant has several strong points. The location is delightful, and everything we ate absolutely stunned us. The care taken in creating the dishes and the love for this type of cuisine are undeniably evident. Furthermore, Davide, the host, was extremely kind and helpful. Among us was a young man in a wheelchair, and I'll never forget the sensitivity Davide demonstrated in putting him at ease. We truly enjoyed interacting with him. Otherwise, the prices were fair and in line with the high quality, and the service was equally impressive. Well, the only (very small) criticism I'd like to make is about the wine list: we were a bit perplexed by the lack of a full wine list. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time we've ordered wines at certain restaurants that turn out to be unavailable. It's a bit annoying, partly because it's not disclosed in advance, but mostly because it could raise suspicions among customers. Let me explain: it seems "sinister," to say the least, in a catalog that lists a whopping 10, 15, or 20 bottles of white, red, and rosé wines, even though—oddly enough—the less expensive ones are missing. Especially when the (very friendly!) waitress suggests more expensive items. My sincere advice: regardless, it would be wise to disclose the absence of certain wines in advance, especially since the aforementioned waitress was quick to point it out to us due to the unavailability of an appetizer. In any case, I was forced to say that at that moment, we didn't want to spend €20-25 on a bottle. Well, maybe you'll start to think negatively, and that there's some sort of "strategy" behind it. I hope ours was merely an unpleasant and mistaken reflection. That aside, I reiterate my positive assessments. La Dispensa dei Raccomandati will satisfy anyone's palate. Highly... recommended!

I had a wonderful experience at Dispensa dei Raccomandati, located in the heart of Nardò's historic center. The restaurant has a welcoming and refined atmosphere. The seafood cuisine is undoubtedly its strong point: all dishes are prepared with the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, especially the fish. Each course was an explosion of flavor, well-balanced and carefully presented. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive: the staff served us with expertise and a smile, making us feel immediately at ease. I also found the value for money to be very good, considering the excellent ingredients and the overall quality of the meal.

A pleasant surprise. The place is small, welcoming, and well-managed, both in terms of the number of tables and their layout. The staff and owner are top-notch, knowledgeable, friendly, kind, and reserved, yet sociable, and joke in the right way. The food is excellent, tasty, flavorful, and hot. Dishes are freshly prepared. Prices are average compared to other restaurants. I highly recommend it.

We went to La Dispensa for the "seafood tasting" and were pleasantly surprised not only by the quality of the food, but also by the courtesy and professionalism of the service and the truly welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended, without a doubt!
