Review – La Cucina Bistrot, Lido di Venezia
During a recent visit to the Lido of Venice, I had the pleasure of discovering La Cucina Bistrot, a welcoming venue that combines informal elegance and surprising attention to detail. The real protagonist of the evening? A simply exceptional gourmet pizza.
Fragrant, light and well-leavened dough, cooked to perfection: crispy on the outside, soft and digestible on the inside. But it is in the toppings that the gourmet soul of the bistro is revealed: carefully selected ingredients, many of which are 0 km or from small artisan producers. I chose the “Pizza del Doge” – Apulian burrata, seasoned culatello, caramelized figs and a sprinkling of chopped pistachios. A bold but perfectly balanced combination that transformed a simple dish into a memorable gastronomic experience.
The service is courteous and professional, the atmosphere relaxed but refined. An excellent selection of natural wines accompanies the menu, making every dinner a small ritual of pleasure.
La Cucina Bistrot is a must-see for anyone looking for an out-of-the-ordinary pizza on the Lido: creative, tasty and made with love. Highly recommended.

UPDATE May 2025
Service definitely improved compared to previous experiences: now times are normal and the dining room staff is much more courteous. The previous review, therefore, needs to be revised (we go from 2 to 4 stars). However, the quality of the pizza remains constant: good before, good now, definitely the best on the Lido.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Let me start by saying that the pizza is good, and I am very demanding about it. The prices are high, but for the pizza they make it is acceptable to pay a little more than normal. The only two stars in this review are therefore not due to the quality (I didn't try the cuisine, it should be specified, but if it's like pizza, I imagine that's valid too), but rather to the service. As a regular customer - so this judgment is not based on just one visit, but on several; among other things, one would expect that those who often return to a restaurant deserve at least a little kindness - I can say that there was not a single time in which we received what we ordered no earlier than 40-45 minutes after ordering. And we're not the only ones: beyond the reviews that all say the same thing, the last time we went, a couple at the table next to us, rightly annoyed, complained to a waitress that they had been waiting for over 50 minutes. But up to this point we can still take stock: one knows that this is how it works at this restaurant, so one can put one's heart at rest. The main problem is that, three quarters of an hour after placing the order, I asked - very politely, I underline - the waitress how far our pizzas were. She, very annoyed and very rudely, told me that they had a table for 8 and that therefore the pizzas were late. Apart from the fact that a restaurant cannot provide a reason of this type - if you have a certain number of seats, it is your duty to provide service accordingly -, the excuse of the table for 8 (8, not 40) falls when, in this restaurant, excessive slowness is the norm. Furthermore, and above all, if slowness is forgivable, rudeness is not at all. To end on a high note, after the pizza I asked for a coffee and a digestive, which arrived after another 20 minutes of waiting, and here we can't even - obviously - attribute the wait to the table of 8 mentioned above, as the coffee and bitters are quick to prepare. Therefore: since you don't go to a restaurant just to eat, but to live an experience, the overall opinion can only be negative, because the courtesy of a business owner, especially compared to the courtesy of the customer, in this case mine, matters as much as the quality of the food served. And then, precisely, there is the question of slowness. I'll specify one thing, because it's not my habit to shoot all the shots: the rudeness of the staff is strictly limited to a single waitress - those who have gone there and those who will go there will have no problem identifying her -, the other waiters and waitresses are kind. In conclusion: reluctantly, because, I repeat, the pizza is good, I will not return to this place. This is the classic case of losing customers.

Visited on Saturday around 8pm. It was almost full at peak time, but I was able to get a seat at the very end. It's a popular restaurant, so reservations are recommended during peak dinner hours.
It seems like the restaurant is famous for pizza, but I ordered beef lasagna and beef carpaccio.
It was really delicious! It's on a different level than the pasta around Lido.
It's a little far from the water bus stop, but it's worth the walk.
I would like to come back to eat pizza next time. thank you!
