I've been looking for a restaurant where I can eat authentic Mexican cuisine for a long time, and I must say I finally found it. I went with a friend who was vacationing in that part of Central America, and he confirmed the quality of the traditional cuisine.
The cocktails and local beers are excellent.

This is our second visit to La Cucaracha, and if we were pleasantly surprised the first time, this time they won us over. The place is small but cozy, and the atmosphere is traditional—we even had the privilege of listening to live music played with heart by two talented artists! The nachos are a must, but we also enjoyed the other dishes we tried (enchiladas, burritos, and quesadillas). Kudos to the staff and the kitchen, well done, and we'll see you next time 💚

I went for dinner yesterday, October 25th, with my family. We've always been fans of Mexican cuisine, and here we found a little slice of Mexico in Rome. It's a small restaurant, but the only thing that's small is the size of the place, because the kitchen and staff are great—in fact, very great. Excellent, well-prepared food with fresh, quality ingredients, excellent, well-crafted drinks, and the wait staff is professional and knowledgeable. The only downside! It's a bit too loud, but the good food makes up for it. I had a wonderful evening and ate excellent dishes. We'll be back very soon.

When I booked over the phone, it seemed complicated and cumbersome to accept my reservation (due to shifts). I still like the atmosphere; I found it welcoming and colorful. It's a bit pricey, but the food is hearty. I'm no expert on Mexican cuisine, but it's definitely good, and one lady in particular is very cheerful and friendly.

Excellent experience! They seated us even though we hadn't booked and the place was full. The service was quick and courteous, and the staff was kind and friendly. Everything was delicious, from appetizer to dessert. For me, it was the best Mexican food I've ever had. I recommend booking, especially on weekends, because even though it was only 7:00 PM, the place was already fully booked when we arrived.

Traveling with a Mexican girlfriend made this place a must-stop considering it was across the street from our hotel. 😂 That being said, I had the fajitas. They were so nice and accommodating as this is a pretty hopping place in all of Rome. Thanks so much for giving us a break from all the pastas and pizzas and wine.

¡Comida deliciosa, gente estupenda! El dueño incluso abrió el restaurante 40 minutos antes solo para darnos de comer. Comí aquí dos veces en mis vacaciones porque tenía antojo de auténtica comida mexicana.

Qualcosa è cambiato rispetto a prima. Abbiamo cenato in famiglia la sera del 26 giugno ed abbiamo trovato un servizio un po' frettoloso e poco attento e porzioni ridotte rispetto a qualche tempo fa. Soprattutto non funzionava l'aria condizionata e faceva troppo caldo all'interno.
Ci tornerò ma con la speranza di trovare la qualità di prima!
