We were passing through and discovered this little restaurant via Google. Of the various options, it was the one that inspired us the most. We ordered a charcuterie board, two first courses (turnip greens and meat sauce), a dessert, and coffee: everything was delicious. The kindness of the owners, who also provided us with a small guide to help us explore the village, was an added bonus. Highly recommended!

Cozy local ristorante with very good food, good service and reasonable prices. We drove Matera to Potenza and saw a sign in crossroad "Irsina - uno dei piu belli borghi in Italia" and decided to for sunday lunch there. It was very good decision!

A set lunch menu for November 1st. Everything was excellent and plentiful, from appetizer to dessert. Local recipes and ingredients were cooked simply and deliciously. Highly recommended.

We actually were going to another place but suddenly appeared at La Contessa and it was really nice! Very tasty, very friendly, very good! Thanks a lot to this family owned traditional Italian restaurant!

17/02/2026: We celebrated my son's communion and everything was really good. In fact, we have been there many times and we have always been served properly and the dishes were delicious.
01/01/2026: We stayed here to celebrate New Year's Eve. The rooms were very large and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and of high quality. We'll definitely be back. I highly recommend it.
