La Cazola In Galliate

This is a special place, found by chance; I kept returning throughout my short stay in Galliate. It's unusual for someone coming from a big city; there's an old-fashioned atmosphere. Once upon a time, you'd seek out the excellent trucker trattorias just outside the city center, and this one has something similar, even though it's right in the center: simple home cooking at rock-bottom prices and a friendly couple running it. Unlike the local competition, where you pay for the set menu regardless of what you order, here, if you only eat a first course and side dish (I don't eat meat), you only pay for that. The Torino flag behind the counter is a plus.
