La Casina Del Gusto In Caprarola

2 steps from the beautiful Farnese palace in Caprarola, convenient because it is located on the street, well what can I say, really very good food, friendly and polite staff (the owner who also has the typical products shop in front is really very polite). Normal prices and a very nice and intimate atmosphere. Recommended.

Easter Monday lunch excellent food and attentive service at a fair price

Let me start by saying that the food deserves 5 stars in my opinion, I don't award them just because of an imperfection in the sautéed chicory (which I really like in its simplicity) which was too soft and soaked in oil, otherwise everything else I ate was truly delicious. According to my wife, the fettuccine with white wild boar ragù was fabulous, the smoked scamorza with truffle was delicious, the potatoes with porcini mushrooms were delicious, as were the fried aubergine meatballs. And then the icing on the cake: without any ambition I asked for some beer and they brought me the red Sixtus from First which is wonderful!!! If you add to this excellent food the place practically adjacent to the stupendous Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola then the location becomes even more beautiful.

Let me start by saying, we ate well. Two things made me turn up my nose: 1) the menu must be updated with current prices and dishes, on the fork/internet there are prices from 4/5 years ago, it's not fair, they're not real. 2) I ordered a suckling pig with fennel and chestnuts for the second course (obviously the waitress (courteous service) when ordering, referring to the chestnut, told us that as it was out of season it was not present in the dish. But if you remove an ingredient the price cannot remain the same.. I was expecting the owner's discount (since the waitress asked for it), but instead nothing, I was disappointed. Nothing to say about the starter, gnocchi with radicchio and the lamb chops. Prices a little high.

Beautiful place, decoration and relaxing atmosphere. Impeccable service. In keeping with the food, they served us two very original pizzas, each one tastier. The dessert, a hazelnut tart with zabaione, there are no words to describe it. Absolutely recommended and essential on a visit to Caprarola.

Arrived before opening time;we were welcomed (in English) and allowed to use the bathroom whilst our table was prepared. The food was molto buono!! Very tasty, perfect portion sizes, delicious. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable and personable. We left feeling very full. Grazie
