Lunch with friends today at La Colombina: a pleasant and refined atmosphere, with a limited number of well-spaced tables, inside an old Lodi farmhouse. The appetizer was pumpkin tart, small but tasty; the main course was braised beef with polenta; and finally, apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. Impeccable service, excellent food, good house wine, a slightly sparkling Gutturnio, and the bill was €50 per person. Until a few years ago, this would have been a hefty price, but unfortunately, it's now a "normal" amount. Satisfied, as were my tablemates, we told ourselves we'd be back.

I stumbled upon it by chance, for a business lunch... I would have happily stayed all day to try other delicacies. I'll definitely be back to enjoy the meal with more time to spare.
