Great place, well-served, quality dishes. We really enjoyed the braised beef ravioli and the appetizers. The staff was friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back.

On Sundays, there's a six-course set menu, all very good traditional dishes. The risotto in particular was truly well-made, flavorful yet delicate. The ravioli with stew were excellent. The roast pork neck with potatoes was top-notch, and the guinea fowl was also excellent. The semifreddo was truly delicious; they chose traditional fare over the "usual" classic tiramisu, and I really enjoyed it. Recommended!

Exceptional dishes that you absolutely must try

A few kilometers from Stradella, nestled among vineyards, lies La Casa dei Nonni, a typical Oltrepò Pavese farmhouse where local produce and those from the garden take center stage. We visited on Sunday for lunch, a day when they offer a fixed menu for €40, including mixed appetizers, two first courses, two second courses, dessert, water, wine, and coffee (except for liqueurs and premium wines). A truly fair price, not only for the quantity—the portions are more than generous—but above all for the quality of the dishes. The appetizers were excellent, especially the local cured meats, which I had little hesitation about given how good the coppa and salami from the hills are. The first courses deserve special praise, especially the braised beef ravioli with braised beef sauce, a signature dish of the Oltrepò, which here far exceeded expectations. The main courses were good, although a step down from the previous ones: the duck, which I had counted on, I found a bit dry, while the roast pork neck with herbs was decidedly more convincing. The desserts, all homemade, were a wonderful discovery. I tried the must pudding, recommended by the very kind waitress: a perfect choice! I don't like overly sweet flavors, yet this dessert was so balanced and delicious that I would have ordered another. The red wine included in the menu, from local wineries, was very good and of high quality, and went down like water. The service was courteous and cheerful. Perhaps a little too quick in the succession of courses, but nothing that detracted from the experience. In conclusion, La casa dei nonni is a little corner of authenticity and flavors at the gateway to the Oltrepò Pavese, perfect for those who want to savor a bit of tradition. Highly recommended!

Nice food, but too expensive for what you ate

Simpatico agriturismo, ambiente rustico ma ben curato, servizio veloce e gentile. Per quanto riguarda il cibo, nulla di particolarmente originale, per lo meno quanto presentava il menu odierno: antipasto con ottimi salumi, frittata di zucchine, peperone croccante, tartelletta con spuma di tonno e fagioli; un ottimo risotto dalla cottura eccellente con pesto e pomodorini; ravioli al radicchio e speck invece troppo cotti e praticamente insapori; per secondo, insalata di pollo con ravanelli e glassa di aceto balsamico carente di olio e coppa di maiale arrosto molto morbida con classico contorno di patatine al forno. Vari dessert tra cui scegliere, senza guizzi di fantasia. Buoni i vini dell'azienda agricola di famiglia.
