Quality food but impossible to eat in the outdoor room because it was under a tent with only two fans on a muggy evening. I swear I went back and forth from the fan with a fork in my hand to be able to eat something. High prices, little choice (4 first courses in total on the menu of which only 2 fish, no glass of rosé available), cover charge even for the one and a half year old daughter (who didn't eat). Tot 48 euros (2 first courses, a water, a glass and a coke). Too bad, the food is good and the waiters are kind but it's not worth it.

Good Experience Overall – Stick to the Seafood Menu We had dinner at Osteria del Principe - La Cantinaccia in Ortigia and were generally pleased with the experience. We were shown to a table outside on a warm evening. They had two large cooling fans at either end of the outdoor seating area, though we didn’t feel much effect from them – so there’s definitely room for improvement there. When it came to ordering, we had to wait for one specific waiter, likely because he was the one most comfortable speaking English. Once things got going, however, the service was friendly and helpful throughout – and we appreciated being able to take our leftovers with us. We ordered two pizzas, which were very good – as you’d expect in Italy, where the pizza standard is generally high. For starters, we had fries, onion rings, and mozzarella sticks, which were unfortunately quite basic and seemed pre-made or frozen. The fries may have been hand-cut, though. There was a small mishap when a bit of beer was spilled on me during service – nothing major, but a little more care would’ve been nice. If you visit, we’d recommend going for their seafood menu – it looked delicious and seemed to be what they specialize in. All in all, a decent experience and worth a visit if you’re nearby – especially for the seafood.

A very good time, a very good address for original Sicilian cuisine (recommend the fish en papillote garnished with zucchini and mint). Very welcoming and friendly service

Found this place tucked away in a quiet neighborhood away from the touristy parts of Ortigia and it was great! The place was packed with locals enjoying their dinner and celebrating birthdays. We went twice and would have gone a third time had they not been closed on Mondays. Pizzas, pasta, fish, wine and desserts were all memorable and the prices very reasonable. If I ever go back to Ortigia it would be to eat here. Salvatorre and his crew very friendly and the service was great! Eat here every night if you can.

7 seafood appetizers - very fresh, delicious and a glass of wine!! Cost 20€!! What more do you want?! We were around Sicily for 3 days, but for us this is the best place where we had dinner. Many greetings from Russia!

When my husband and I were waiting for our orders to come out from the kitchen, we were skeptical about our ordering fish plates as there were so many pizzas coming out of the kitchen. But so happy when we tasted our dinners. The spada was prepared in a very original way, one of the best I’ve had in Siracusa. My husband loved his grilled calamari as well. We will return to try the pizza.

Such a good pizza, for dough, ingredients, everything in detail: never eaten! Above all a competitive price because with 14 euros per person you eat a pizza of your choice, chips and a drink/beer. Thanks, we will be back soon!

I really enjoyed the artichokes with shrimp, lemon mussels, and pistachio cream pizza. Everything was delicious and the service was impeccable! A great place to eat if you're in Syracuse!
