A gem in the heart of Syracuse! Osteria del Principe is an authentic experience of Sicilian flavors, with dishes that are meticulously prepared and the freshest ingredients. The atmosphere is welcoming and the service is friendly, attentive but never intrusive. The catch of the day and the traditional first courses revisited with creativity are highly recommended. A place to return to again and again!

Well, I've been going there for quite some time now. Let's say it's the only non-touristy restaurant in Ortigia, where you can eat well (very well) with an excellent quality-price ratio. A welcoming atmosphere, a large room, kind and friendly staff.

Typical family run trattoria, that has existed for a 100 years already. Traditional cuisine, not fancy, what you see is what you get. Where Syracusans come and dine. We were there when the Navy veterans came together to celebrate Easter. It helps looking in the plates of the neighbouribg tables and order. We tried all the appetizers, then tried the catch of the day (pasta vongole, with vongole as large as my thumb). Fantastic.

05/06/2025: Sembrano, ad un primo impatto, una banda di casinisti, ma se ti siedi e lasci fare vedi che sono precisi e simpatici. Il cibo è curato e abbondante, sosta da rivalutare
28/05/2025: We dropped in for a quick breakfast and coffee. Everything was fine, except that communication in a language other than Italian was a problem - quite a common condition in Italy. Despite everything, we somehow managed to communicate.

03/05/2025: Refined environment and top quality food. Above all, carpaccio of amberjack and purple prawn marinated with citrus fruits and fingerfish with sea urchin sauce. Sensational, unique.
01/05/2025: Absolutely one of the best meals I've had in Italy. The atmosphere is so incredible, the restaurant being situated in front of the Duomo. The staff were friendly, and even though there was en error in my booking they still accommodated me. And then the food - absolutely fabulous. Could not recommend the gnocchi with lobster sauce enough. Absolutely worth visiting.
