Amazing location and outlook and the best produce we’ve tased in Ischia. All vegetables are grown in the garden and everything tastes amazing!

Wow—what a location! We had the most wonderful evening at Giuseppe's yesterday. He and his daughter provided such friendly service, and the food was the best and most authentic we've had on the island. Truly a gem that's well worth a visit. Get there from 8 p.m. onward, for the most beautiful sunset with views of the Castello, Procida, Naples, and Mount Vesuvius (we could even see Capri). It was truly amazing 🩷

It was recommended to us by the girl at the hotel where we were staying: we'd asked her for a quaint place to eat good traditional Ischian food. What can I say... the place is simply heavenly! We were lucky enough to go there one day for lunch, and we were the only ones there. A breathtaking view of the Aragonese Castle, the island of Procida, and even Capri... now that's my idea of ​​paradise! We were welcomed like family, at home. Everything is prepared with local products that showcase the area and bring to light the authentic flavors of traditional Ischian cuisine. We followed the owner's recommendations and tasted practically everything. From appetizers with green tomatoes and eggplant in oil, to frittata and eggplant parmigiana, zucchini, tegoline, and garden vegetables, to the classic bruschetta with cherry tomatoes. We continued with bucatini with rabbit sauce and then, of course, the famous Ischian rabbit. To finish, freshly made zeppole, paired with a good wine and, to top it off, a glass of limoncello. A highly recommended place, it deserves at least 10 stars! Kudos to all the hard work behind it: if you want to eat something genuine and authentic, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The price is very fair. It deserves 10 stars!

Wir sind zum wiederholten Male in diesem äußerst schön gelegenem und angenehmen Lokal gewesen und können jedem raten, das auch zu tun, denn die Aussicht auf den Golf von Neapel ist von dieser Stelle äußerst schön. Man muß sich allerdings darüber im Klaren sein, daß der Aufstieg zum Torre di Mezzo von Campagnano aus gerade in der Mittagszeit äußerst schweißtreibend ist. Allerdings entschädigt sowohl der Ausblick als auch das "Ambiente" diese Mühen vollauf. Die Preise sind angesichts dieser ganz hervorragenden Lage äußerst zivil und die Bewirtung durch den "Padrone" ist ein Genuß - jedenfalls dann, wenn man sich interessiert und offen zeigt. Wenn ein Richard H. hier erzählt, er sei möglicherweise "abgezockt" worden, so mutet uns diese Äußerung doch sehr fragwürdig an. Wenn Herr H. nämlich für zwei Personen ein "coniglio all'ischitana" (Kaninchen auf ischitanische Art zubereitet) bestellt und verzehrt hat, hat er überhaupt keinen Grund über den von ihm hier referierten Preis zu klagen, denn diese Spezialität ist nicht für einen Apfel und ein Ei zu haben.Nebenbei: dies trifft auf alle Spezialitäten zu. Im Übrigen dürfte dieser Herr ja nicht nur gegessen , sondern doch wohl auch getrunken haben und er wird wohl kaum angenommen haben, er werde zu diesem Zwecke eingeladen. Die Geschichte dieses Richard H. erscheint uns insgesamt als eine bösartige Unterstellung und wir vermuten an dem holprigem Deutsch, in dem sie verfaßt wurde, schlicht und einfach eine geschäftsschädigende Einlassung eines Konkurrenten, der dem Eigentümer des Torre di Mezzo den Erfolg nicht gönnt und so auf ganz widerwärtige Weise gegen ihn intrigiert. A propos Eigentümer: das ist ein äußerst angenehmer Mensch, mit dem wir uns lange und intensiv unterhalten haben und der ein durchaus kluger und angenehmer Herr ist. Wir haben das Gespräch allerdings - das sei zugegeben - in italienischer Sprache geführt, allerdings wissen wir, das er sich auch nicht italienisch sprechenden und verstehenden Menschen gegenüber äußerst liebenswürdig zeigt. Es kommt halt immer darauf an, wie man in den Wald hineinruft. Leider, leider ist bei sehr vielen Touristen die Fähigkeit ein dezentes und offenes Verhalten zu zeigen allenfalls rudimentär ausgeprägt - wenn überhaupt.

Mit Frau und Sohn bin ich beim wandern zum Mittagessen hier gewesen, ein Freund hatte uns Torre di Mezzo empfohlen. Der Padrone hat uns selbst bedient, es war das beste Essen, während unseres Aufenthalts in Ischia. Wein, Tomaten und vieles mehr stammt von eben hier und das schmeckt man auch. Die Aussicht auf Capri, das Castello und hinüber nach Neapel ist unvergleichlich!

Very hospitable host. The best lunch on the island.

Highly recommended: a very special place. The food was excellent and the hospitality warm. The whole family works in coordination and it's a pleasure for all guests. We arrived here on foot from the village of Carta Romana, ate leisurely for an hour and a half, even more, and then continued our hike toward Piano Liguori, then finished in the village of Schiappone. It's a perfect route with the restaurant in the middle — and everything is possible with public bus from the port. The entrance to the stepped path (Via Torre) that ascends to the restaurant through the scenery is next to 123 Via Campagnano. Enjoy!
