La Cantina del Mago In Latera

Hard to find, but once you have, you will be blown away by the amazing food, the nurturing hospitality and the great scenery. A big recommend.

In Latera, amidst the quiet streets of a medieval village, there's a place that's become a regular stop for me. During the warmer months, there are also tables on a veranda overlooking the greenery. The cuisine always uses local, seasonal products, brought to the table with authentic and genuine flavors. The mixed antipasto is rich and varied, perfect for discovering many local specialties. The first courses are served in generous, well-seasoned portions, truly satisfying. Riccardo, the chef, manages to enhance each ingredient with creativity and respect for tradition, while Gino is the master of grilled meats, cooked to perfection. A place where you can feel at home, immersed in beauty and flavor.

Uncountable... a meeting between the dream and divine food... everything is delicious and Riccardo and Gino are truly inimitable for their dedication to food. Congratulations!

A magical place, the name preludes an experience that makes it difficult to discern the fine line between reality and imagination. The meal, however tasty and refined, isn't the real highlight of this place, but rather the feeling of no longer being able to discern whether you chose the restaurant yourself or whether it chose you, like an inseparable part of your destiny, a place you've long been destined to, a place you've already experienced, and will long continue to experience.

A hidden gem near Lake Bolsena. When we arrived, the terrace was actually full, but they set up an extra table for us. The service was extremely friendly and we had a delicious meal. It's worth the drive to Latera for this excellent restaurant. We will definitely eat here again!

We've been frequenting La Cantina del Mago for years, and each time we're amazed by the new dishes they offer, always using authentic, freshly prepared food. Riccardo and Gino are truly exceptional, thanks to their courtesy and professionalism. We're welcomed into a setting constructed with warm materials: stone, wood, and iron. The furnishings—tables, chairs, fireplace, and grill—create a magical atmosphere, perfect for preparing food that's equally magical in quality and flavor. An experience definitely worth experiencing.

Cozy, authentic restaurant. Good food, friendly staff and very nice environment! The selection of wine was red or white :)

Piccolo e caratteristico locale nel centro storico di Latera; dispone anche di spazio esterno con panorama sulla campagna. Riccardo (cuoco e titolare) è una persona davvero eccezionale: con il suo carattere amichevole ed esuberante, trasmette la sua grande passione per la cucina e la ricerca di piatti semplici ma gustosissimi, sapientemente armonizzati con le ricette tradizionali.

Il locale è piccolo, caldo, rustico ed accogliente. Appena entri ti accolgono come se fossi un vecchio amico che è tornato. L'antipasto è un tagliere con un mix di gusti e sapori da leccarsi i baffi: affettati, cavolo fritto, bruschette particolari, fagioli con le cotiche, focaccia e panunto... sicuramente è un tagliere che segue la stagionalità dei prodotti. Poi siamo passati ai pici (sicuramente fatti a mano) con un sugo con aglio rosso: l'ho definito un piatto FOTONICO, non ci sono altri termini per descriverlo... A seguire fegato alla brace accompagnato da cipolle gratinate. Carne buonissima e cipolle super golose (avrei preso un'altra porzione!). Che dire poi del dolce: una calda crostata con crema pasticcera accompagnata da una confettura artigianale.... da mangiarne l'intera teglia! Una serata deliziosa, un servizio gentile, attento, accogliente e simpatico. Riccardo che sta in cucina è straordinario e suo zio non è da meno. Conto super in linea con il luogo ed il cibo. Torneremo SICURAMENTE!!
