La Cantina In Verbania

Excellent. Best restaurant we ate at during our week in Puglia! The staff is very friendly and the food... a real treat!

Went to Ristorante La Cantina in Alberobello for lunch without a reservation. They asked us to come back around 2:30, so we did, and ended up waiting about 20 minutes for the staff to clear and set up the tables. It was a slow process since they seemed to spend more time chatting than working. The food was just okay. The orecchiette with ragù was good, but the piece of beef was awful — full of gristle, as you can see in the photos. The potatoes were excellent, though. As for dessert we had the smallest portion of panna cotta I’ve ever seen, honestly kind of funny. Overall, a bit disappointing considering the hype

Beautiful food, beautiful wine, beautiful people

Thanks to Chef Francesco and his family I made a great impression on my Canadian guests who chose this restaurant as the best of their Apulian tour. Unfortunately I don't have photos (I'll take them next time because I'll definitely be back soon) but the orecchiette with sauce and meatballs and the crudaiola ones won their hearts (and not only that😅). Wonderful family atmosphere and impeccable service.
