La Caneva Bistrot In Riva del garda

One of the best restaurants in Riva del Garda. High level service and food. For those who love non-trivial cuisine and know how to appreciate refined combinations. Raw material of absolute quality.

Nice place very well furnished and elegant, visually beautiful dishes, but in essence something is missing, that something that enhances the tastes. I was with a large table and we had an agreed menu, the hot bread brought on the spot was excellent, the spaghetti with sea urchins on the other hand was a little disappointing, well cooked and certainly of an excellent brand but with little sauce which was too compact and not very pleasant on the palate and what's more you really had to look for the flavor of the sea urchins as it was so light. The second much vaunted as a dish that made the restaurant famous, i.e. Wellington-style tuna fillet, very good in taste even if simple in construction but unfortunately wrong in cooking the tuna which certainly should have been cooked less. Above all of this, I would like to mention the haughtiness of the owner which is promptly out of place, as is the price: too expensive, if they managed to fill the gaps in the kitchen, which are otherwise small, it could also be worth the price and a few more stars in the rating.

Despite the little time available, we absolutely wanted to try this restaurant in the center of Riva del Garda. Elegant venue, high-level service and (several) memorable dishes. Several years have now passed since our visit but, if we happen to be in the area again, it will certainly be our intention to return and enjoy other dishes. This time, hopefully, more calmly. In this regard, I would like to thank the owners who, seeing us in a "rush", did not hesitate for a second in preparing a take-away bag with all the small pastries that, otherwise, we would not have been able to taste. Restaurant in an alley 5-6 minutes walk from Lake Trasimeno, in Riva del Garda, nice environment, very friendly staff, excellent raw materials, everything very fresh and well prepared, good portions. Some really well designed dishes (for example the "tuna Wellington", very soft and tasty). I would happily stay here again.

Pleasant surprise in the heart of Riva del Garda. The restaurant is elegant but informal where you can enjoy excellent meat or fish dishes. My choice was for fish and my palate was satisfied by delicious dishes both for the careful selection of ingredients and for the truly accurate and artistic plating. The owner and his staff are extremely courteous and attentive. I will return to try meat dishes. Really recommended.
