Very wel known restaurant with good reviews and kind personel. So we made reservation with high expectations .We were however a bit disappointed regarding the dishes. Quite plain and simple. Like the swordfish carpacchio was most dissapointing ; just slices lightly smoked fish with oliveoil. (See picture) The price quality ratio is regarding our experimenten too high. The interior is also plain, like a bit cold canteen style and simple, no cosy 'old style' atmosphere. Overall we were dissapointed.

It's a must visit in Rome, well-established place, super food, affordable prices, I'd rather go to LaCampana instead of going to Alfredo next door and getting kissed.

Everything was very delicious! The service was great also! We ordered the tripe, the oxtail and the tiramisu. It was all perfect! Definitely would come back.

Tipica trattoria romana frequentata non solo da turisti. Piatti della tradizione abbondanti e saporiti. Ottimi i carciofi e la carbonara, ci ha un po' deluso la cacio e pepe. Comunque consigliato

Della location ne parlo poco, perché ormai è scritto ovunque che è l'osteria più antica del mondo,mi vorrei soffermare sul menù,di un Romano che difficilmente troverete in giro...le animelle di agnello alla piastra e il cervello fritto con i carciofi difficilmente li troverete da altre parti...servizio perfetto e conto che per menù e storia è giustificato.

04/06/2025: In the heart of Rome yesterday evening invited to dinner by friends I discovered this Osteria. Food prepared to perfection excellent service location in the most beautiful square in the world. Well done compliments I will return soon
