La Buona Novella In Firenze

Passing through Florence for a few hours I visited the Grand Hotel Minerva, whose restoration was the work of the great Edoardo Detti, my professor, for whom I had worked as a studio in the late Seventies. At the reception they welcomed me very cordially and I was able to visit the large rooms on the ground floor, which have kept alive the character of the restorations of the 1960s, in which Carlo Scarpa collaborated. I remembered the privilege of a guided tour by Prof. Detti, up to the small swimming pool on the roof, who had shown me how he had worked hard to design everything, even the letterhead of the "Minerva".

We had a great stay here. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Nice location.

The best hotel of our trip, so far. The service provided by the staff was the best service I’ve received at any hotel in the world. All staff we encountered very kind and personable. They remembered small details and even got us a table at a restaurant we had been wanting to go to which required reservations we were unable to get on our own! Highly recommend this hotel and if we are back in Florence we will absolutely return.

It's best. The location was 10 minutes away from the station, and the hotel and rooms were nice because they contained the atmosphere of Florence. Breakfast is served as a buffet. Breakfast was also good. I definitely plan to visit again next time.

Pure luxe in an unbeatable location. Views from the rooftop pool and bar are spectacular. The rooms are beautifull appointed and recently renovated, and most have lovely views over the Piazza di Santa Maria Novello. I've stayed at other 5-star hotels in Florence and this is by far my favorite.

We had the best time at this hotel! We traveled to multiple cities in Italy and this one definitely made us feel relaxed and at leisure, slowing down our pace and enjoying some time pool side. Their dining options at the pool were great! Pastas and paninis available. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were nice. I'd return here again.
